paintings are exhibited publicly and in a number of private and corporate
collections including SAS Institute, Sun Trust Bank, Wachovia Bank, Duke University

MINGES GALLERY — Connie Winters — Oil Paintings
Connie displays some of her vibrant impressionist-style paintings in the Minges Gallery.
“As an impressionistic painter, it is important to express the beauty and the personality
of the scene. My response to the colors and relationship of shapes should be encouraged
to the viewer to interact with my creation. The painting should be an invitation into that
moment and say welcome, stay awhile."

RAYNER GALLERY — Justin McGowan — Justin’s has a primary interest is
architecture and historic preservation, seeing the aesthetic values in many of
Kinston's historic landmarks and producing detailed pencil sketches depicting these
various buildings. He also creates images of buildings from his own imagination,
which he depicts on his production of Christmas cards each year.

HAMPTON GALLERY — Chris Wagner — Acrylics and Watercolors, Landscapes and
Portraits
Chris graduated from the Corcoran College of Art & Design and sells and shows his artwork in

been painting with acrylics on canvas. When not painting at his home in New Bern, Chris enjoys
traveling throughout the United States, painting our beautiful North Carolina coast and scenes
depicting his travels. (Right: Flower Garden Butterfly, mix of watercolor and acrylics) To view more

Our sincerest appreciation for the efforts of this month’s Volunteer of the Month – Christine Cannon.
Christine provided the leadership for the Red, Art and Blue Fall Gala. She was steadfast in
helping to recruit varied live and silent auction items and provided needed assistance in all
phases of planning and implementation. She even recruited her husband, Carlos Cannon to
help! Simply put, without her individual efforts the evening would not have been a
success. We are indebted to her for her time, energy, ideas and physical work that she so
unselfishly and graciously gave to us!
Heartfelt
THANK YOU’S
Christine!
