Hello. Without realising it, this has become a bit of a logo design special. We do, of course do other types of design work, all the way from brochures to websites. But, this work literally jumped off the mac this time round, so wow, we’ve got a special. Hope you enjoy it.

Your Logo. Whilst we are talking about logos, here’s an interesting stat.

A local printer told me recently that 80% of their clients could

not send them a high resolution logo. They’d ask for an EPS

file and get a shoulder shrug. I believe this raises an important

point for both business owners and logo designers, probably

more so for the owners.

Your logo is probably the single most important piece of

design spending you’ll ever make and yet you are never really

in control of it after the design process has finished. You

might be sent countless jpegs at different sizes, but these are

pretty useless when you want to put a sign on your new office

space. Your designer should give you the jpegs AND either

their source Adobe Illustrator (.ai) file, or at least a .eps file.

With this, you can hand it over to any designer, print or web

and they’ll be able to size it to any size from favicon to double

decker bus!

I know all the designer debates over copyright, IP, etc (believe

me i’ve been there), but this is the one thing that should be

signed over lock, stock and barrel. Make sure you’ve got yours.

LifeCycle - Cycle hire scheme

A university group contacted us to brand their pilot study to be submitted as part of their MBA project. The cycle scheme similar to the recent London scheme could be franchised to many global city centres.

Five Coaching - Employment Services

Employment company that coaches people back into work. Various sources suggest that orange is the colour of success, so an obvious choice.

Silvertec - IT Services

An existing logo that required a refresh as the company moved into consultancy. We maintained the existing colours and fonts, choosing to develop an icon that suggested connectivity, reach and expansion.

Solaveil - Specialist coatings

Coatings to harvest sunlight, sounds like a novel idea. The logo kind of explains the product at a glance and builds on the existing brand development.

John’s Boat WorksBespoke boat builder

A start-up company doing branding the right way. Bespoke boats are premium products and we’ve developed a logo that hopefully mirrors this.

Amber PhotographicsPhotographic services, scanning, printing...

Wouldn’t normally use images in a logo unless they are for web only. After in-depth talks with the client, it was agreed that he’d never do billboard advertising.
