Dear Parents,

I hope that all families enjoyed a relaxing long weekend and that the children have taken the opportunity to rest up before we commence the busy run to the end of the school year.

Congratulations to our Year Four Hooptime students Matilda, Nathalya, Emilia, Cameron, Seth, Joshua, Corey, Ryan and Dawson who won their regional competition last week. They will now go on to compete at State level.

ALL SOULS DAY Wednesday 2nd November

Today we remember in a special way those who have died. We believe that all who have died in Jesus will rise again with him. For in Jesus, we are all made alive. In remembering the souls who have died, we remember that, if we follow Jesus, we too shall join him in eternal life.

Loving God, your son Jesus promised us eternal life. Let us now pray for ourselves and those who have died.

We pray for all those who have died, especially …………… Lord, hear us.

All: Lord, hear our prayer.

We pray that we may remember those who have died and keep them in our hearts. Lord, hear

us.

All: Lord, hear our prayer.

We ask that you forgive the wrong things that we have done, and help us to stay close to you.

Lord, hear us.

All: Lord, hear our prayer.

We pray that we may one day share the joys and blessings of eternal life with God. Lord, hear

us.

All: Lord, hear our prayer.

God of love, hear our prayers and help us to always follow the example of Jesus. We ask this

through Christ our Lord.

All: Amen.

Trinity has zero tolerance towards child abuse and is therefore committed to complying with the Victorian Child Safe Standards and Ministerial Order 870. All parents/Guardians wishing to help in the classroom, canteen or attend excursions MUST have completed the PARENT HELPER WORKSHOP and hold a current WORKING WITH CHILDREN CARD.

Further details are available from the school office. All parent/guardian helpers must sign in at the office before proceeding to the classrooms. Your current Working with Children card must be displayed at all times when working in the classrooms and attending excursions.

A reminder to all Parents/Carers, supervision by School Staff begins at 8.30am before school and after school only at the drop

off area until 3.30pm.

Please observe and supervise your children, as they play on the equipment.

Thank you for your co-operation

TRINITY CAR PARK ETIQUETTE For greater safety and visibility, we are requesting that all

drivers reverse park into the marked bays.

Thank you all who use the pedestrian crossing area. You are demonstrating to your children correct road safety practices. Once children cross the pedestrian crossing into the parking area, they, for their safety, need to be placed into vehicles promptly. The car park is NOT a meeting area.

The lane around the edge of the car park (closest to the oval) are for vehicles waiting to pick children up from the Pick-up Zone ONLY.

The two parking bays closest to the office path are the PICK-UP ZONES. These are NO STANDING zones. I f your children are not ready to get into your car as you pull up to the pick-up zone, you must continue on and rejoin the end of the pick-up queue.

There is NO RIGHT TURN when exiting the car park. All vehicles must turn left for the safety of others and to maintain traffic flow.

THE GATES CLOSE AT 9.00am AND RE-OPEN AT 3.00pm. Occasionally they might re-open slightly later due to school activities.

Thank you for your patience and consideration of others.

THE FEAST OF THE HOLY SOULS

WE REMEMBER: THOSE OF OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHO HAVE DIED AND WHOM WE REMEMBER TODAY IN THE LIFE OF THE CHURCH. MAY THEY ALL BE RESTING IN PEACE AND WAITING TO WELCOME US INTO ETERNAL LIFE.

WE PRAY FOR: Mrs. Scarton’s mother, Parents, Family Members and Friends who are undergoing treatment of any kind; Mrs. Head’s Mother-in-Law who is very unwell; Mrs Jane Steele’s Father (Alistair 6C) who died recently; the builders who are working on the school; and the many Refugees around our fragile world who are seeking a home.

SECOND HAND UNIFORMS: Thank you to those Families who have sent along uniform pieces for re-sale. We are very grateful.

LOST PROPERTY BOX: Would you believe that there are still uniforms turning up in the box which are unmarked? PLEASE MARK ALL JUMPERS AND JACKETS SO THEY CAN BE EASILY RETURNED TO YOU. THANK YOU.

GRANDPARENTS DAY is this Friday and we are all looking forward to seeing you on this day. (We even had one enthusiastic Grandpa turn up last Friday!)

FOR SALE: 2 hand-made Wooden Planter Boxes (340mmx 340mm x250mm deep). They would make beautiful Christmas Presents / or small Vegetable Boxes. Please see me if you are interested.

A PRAYER FOR GRANDPARENTS:

God bless all Grandparents and keep them in Your care. Bless them with peace, health and happiness. Reward them for their Faith and Faithfulness, for their Work and Goodness, for their Love and Thoughtfulness, for their Gifts and Prayers. Give them a long and happy life together. May old age come to them in the company of family and friends. And when life is over, unite them again, where parting will be no more, in the kingdom of Your love.

A WORD FROM POPE FRANCIS: I t takes so much patience to do this: to be a good Parent, a good Father, a good Mother, a good Grandfather, and a good Grandmother. It takes so much patience and with this patience comes holiness by exercising patience. (A Year with Pope Francis on The Family page 328)

CARING AND HOSPITALITY OUTREACH - In my home visits to the senior members of our community I have regularly experienced situations where a community member is healthy, but is unable to drive to mass, perhaps because they were reliant on a spouse who has died, or never had a licence, or have lost their licence, or just no longer feel confident enough to drive. Well how should our church respond to this need? Are you in a position to bring someone who lives close to you to mass? If you come to different mass times or are concerned about holidays, or times when you are unavailable, don’t worry, in my experience most people are very flexible. This is a mutual arrangement between you and the individual concerned, to participate all you need to do is to place your name, address, contact and normal mass time on the clip board at the welcome desk at the back of the church, we will put you in touch with a person who needs transport as the occasion arises, if you begin and at some stage can no longer do it, that’s okay, you can stop, with no questions asked! .
