The Prayer of the Day (The Collect) Almighty and everlasting God, you have given to us your servants grace, by the confession of a true faith, to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity, and in the power of your divine Majesty to worship the Unity: Keep us steadfast in this faith and worship, and bring us at last to see you in your one and eternal glory, O Father; who with the Son and the Holy Spirit live and reign, one God, for ever and ever.

The Gospel

The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to meet. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some still weren't sure that he was God's Son. Jesus said to them, "God has told me to tell you, don't ever stand still. Go and help people to become disciples. All of them, no matter where they live. Baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them the new way of living I introduced to you. And don't you ever, ever forget this: I am with you always. Always."

The Affirmation of Faith From Ephesians 3

We believe in God the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named. We believe in God the Son, who lives in our hearts through faith and fills us with his love.

O God, you love us and you call us from before the moment of our first breath, and you love us when we first see the light of day. As parents love their children before they even see them, and then embrace them gently from the moment of their birth, so you love us—and we thank you. Help us, dear God, to love one another as you love us.

You love us, O God from the time of our naming you love us in our growing and hold us as we take our first steps. You love us and walk beside us as we explore the world with eager hands and eyes. As parents love their children as they see them grow and develop so you love us—and we thank you. Help us, dear God, to love one another as you love us.

You love us, O God, as we mature and seek our way, you love as we become aware of the world around us, you love us as we smile and play, you even love us when we say no and when we begin to stray.

Collect for Hope and Renewal

God of all power and love, we give thanks for your unfailing presence

and the hope you provide in times of uncertainty and loss.

Send your Holy Spirit to enkindle in us your holy fire.

Revive us to live as Christ’s body in the world:

A people who pray, worship, learn, break bread, share life, heal neighbors,

bear good news, seek justice, rest and grow in the Spirit.

Wherever and however we gather, unite us in common prayer and send us in common mission,

that we and the whole creation might be restored and renewed, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

And now, as our Savior Christ has taught us, we pray together:

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your Name,

A Celebration of our Graduates

Dear Lord,

This prayer is for those graduating – For those who dreamed how the final days of school would go What they’d experience in savoring the “lasts” Of friendships, events, dances, classes, tests And how nothing seemed to go as planned.

This prayer holds the lost chances and missed opportunities This prayer feels the sadness at not walking down the school hallways again Not hearing the laughter and cheers of friends Not sitting under the lights of the football stadium one last time Not joining in a chorus of songs or playing the final note of a concert.

This prayer is for those who have needed to find grace In new ways of learning and interacting Staying connected with family, teachers, and friends Putting future plans on hold.

This prayer is for those who have moved into the unknown Unsure of what life will look like on the other side Uncertain of where they are going and what it will look like.

This prayer is for all those experiencing graduation, the ending of an academic year, But also a prayer for those about to begin With an understanding that life is never what we expect That the best laid plans sometimes turn upside down That friendship can be deepened through notes, texts, and phone calls That food and games can be shared meaningfully through a screen That walks in our neighborhoods open us to the beauty and life in our midst That caring for our neighbor is a holy act That time for rest is good for the spirit.

This prayer goes with you wherever you will go And will continue to cheer you on Reminding you that you have been prepared for such a time as this That you go not alone The Spirit guides you with wisdom, love, and hope.

This prayer is for you – know it’s been offered in love By the God who has claimed you before you were born and marked you as beloved.

The Lord be with you. And also with you. Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give God thanks and praise.

Almighty God, good Father to us all, Your face is turned towards your world. In love you gave us Jesus your Son to rescue us from sin and death. Your Word goes out to call us home to the city where angels sing your praise. We join with them in heaven’s song:

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

Father of all, we give you thanks for every gift that comes from heaven. To the darkness Jesus came as your light. With signs of faith and words of hope he touched untouchables with love and washed the guilty clean. This is his story. This is our song: Hosanna in the highest.

The crowds came out to see your Son, yet at the end they turned on him. On the night he was betrayed he came to table with his friends to celebrate the freedom of your people. This is his story. This is our song: Hosanna in the highest.
