From Monsignor Ron …

The life of God is all about community. If we wish to have a relationship with our God, we need to be committed to a life of unity with our God and a life of unity with each other.

It is our task, each and every one of us, to bring people into this communion of life. We have all been empowered to do this. St Paul puts the task of the Christian this way: "be united, live in peace and the God of love and peace will be with you." To be a Christian we need to work for this and to share the life we have received.

At the centre of the mystery of God is his everlasting love and fidelity. Given the shabby response of the world, the constancy of God's love is very difficult to grasp:

It is a love that continues to be faithful even when it sees continued infidelity in those it loves. God's ceaseless love of the world is so great that he sent his beloved Son among us. The Son’s faithful love is so great that he faced the ultimate infidelity -- being put to death by those he loved. But God's love survives the death of Jesus: God raised his Son and sent his Spirit so that we could share the very life of the love of God. God is love. In honouring the Trinity today, we celebrate God's extravagant love for our world and for us.

It is of the nature of God that his love abides forever. And if there is one thing we all desire to experience in our lives, it is the love we can depend on, the love that is not withdrawn when misfortune comes, and the love that sees beyond our frailty and faults because it sets no limit to forgiveness. None of us has experienced the fullness of this authentic love, yet it is to that love that our whole being aspires. We can catch glimpses of it when we look at our own experience of love in the community.

To be a Christian is not something private: it is about getting involved. We need to accept that if we wish to call ourselves Christians, we need to be involved in working for God. God has decided he really needs us to be his point of contact with people. To be a Christian means we have to make a commitment to be Apostles of Jesus, guided by the Holy Spirit and strive to bring all people to the Father.

What Jesus wants is a response in love, which seeks opportunities to express that love. This is shown in questions like -- what more can I do? Is there any way I can help? the reason is that to love is about service.

St. Francis Xavier’s favourite prayer was: “Most Holy Trinity, who live in me, I praise You, I worship You, I adore You and I love You.” Let the Son lead us to the Father through the Spirit, to live with the Triune God forever and ever. Amen.

PARISH FINANCES: As you would be aware the income for the parish has decreased dramatically over the past couple of months. We do need the continued support of our parishioners for both the first and the second collections. We do recommend, if it is convenient and possible, that parishioners look at online contributions to the parish. You will find the details below on how to do this. Of course, the second way to help is simply to drop off your envelopes and your contribution to the first collection to the parish office during office hours.

We are very appreciative of those who continue to drop in envelopes each week & also those who are taking advantage of online contributions. This can be done by:

❖ Visiting our website and use the ‘Make a Payment’ button. The Biller Code drop down box will let you choose from Planned Giving, 1st or 2nd Collection etc.

❖ You can contact the parish office to set up a planned giving direct debit or setup your own recurring payment to: BSB: 067 950 Account Number: 00000420 . Account Name: Marayong Catholic Church

❖ A tap and go terminal is available in the Church near the choir.

PARISH ENVELOPES FOR THE COMING FINANCIAL YEAR:

Usually during the month of June we have a presentation on the finances of the parish. Obviously this is impractical at this time, but we would still ask that you give consideration to your personal contribution to both the first and second collections.

There will be a parish audit conducted by the Diocese of Parramatta after the end of the financial year. When these details are available, we will publish them for questions

Envelopes are available in the church and may be collected during visiting hours or on Sunday morning. One of the things that we have learned during this pandemic season is how valuable for the sustaining of the parish either direct debits and the credit card offerings. We do ask parishioners who are in position to do so, to consider this as a possibility for the future. Information and necessary forms can be obtained from the parish office or from the parish webpage.

Page 3: TRINITY...TRINITY PARISH REGISTRATION Bulletin Highlights If you have not filled out a Registration Form, please do so as soon as possible and return it to the Church or Parish Office

ATTENDANCE AT MASS:

As you may have noticed the NSW government has announced a relaxation for attendance at religious services from June 1.

Twenty people will be able to attend weddings, fifty people will be able to participate in religious services at places of worship and fifty people can attend funerals, subject to the four square metres rule. In our situation, entrance will only be through one door of the church and parishioners will be directed to where they are to be seated.

We will be adhering to the safety plans as directed, and we will ensure that hand hygiene, physical distancing and cleansing of the seats in the Church take place. Of course, people who are unwell should not come to the Church but rather stay at home. There are also restrictions in regard to singing at religious services.

As Citizens of NSW, we are bound to follow the law. Once the designated number is reached, we will have to turn people away. I am aware that these limitations will create difficulties at times, but I ask you to be patient and even at times to accept being turned away. If we do obey these rules, then we can be optimistic that the number of people able to attend will increase gradually.

Catholics from the Diocese of Parramatta continue to be dispensed from their Sunday Mass obligation until further notice. (Canon 1248 paragraph 2 and Canon 2181).”

For Weekday Mass from June 1 & Sunday Liturgies from June 7

1. Only 50 people will be admitted into the Church, and this will be through the side door only (near the Piety store).

2. All people entering the Church need to sign on with their name and phone number.

2A. All people need to use hand sanitiser provided before signing in.

3. You are asked to be at the Church at least 15 minutes before the commencement of Mass. The doors of the Church will be closed when full and 5 minutes before Mass commences.

3A. For those coming to Weekday Mass, please be aware of the difficulty that happens with students being dropped off to school. So please allow plenty of time.

4. Parishioners are to sit only in the seats that are designated for sitting by a yellow dot.

5. We do recommend that parishioners at Weekday Masses only come on alternate days. In order to be fair to as many people as possible, parishioners are asked to only attend one Mass on Sunday and this includes the Vigil Mass.

6. We also ask that people volunteer to sanitise the seats after each Mass

MASS TIMES:

Masses on Week Days: Monday to Saturday at 9 AM. This week we resume Wednesday evening Mass. We will continue to live stream morning Masses.

Masses on the weekend and for foreseeable future: Weekend Masses should only take about 30 minutes.

Saturday Evening Vigil Masses: 5 PM and 6 PM,

Sunday morning Masses: 7:30 AM, 8:30 AM, 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM.

Visitation to the Church: The front corner door of the Church (near the Piety store) will be a means of entering the Church. It is necessary that you use hand sanitiser and record time along with your name and phone number upon entering the Church.
