It is with great joy that we announce the visit of His Grace, Archbishop Robert J. Carlson, to Saint Francis de Sales Oratory on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at 10:30am. Archbishop Carlson will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation and will assist at a Solemn High Mass.

Please contact the rectory office if you or your child(ren) would like to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. We can help you review the eligi-bility requirements and register for classes manda-tory for anyone who will be confirmed.

For the seventh year, the Institute of Christ the King will return to the beautiful Mount Saint Jo-seph retreat center for our annual music camp. The camp will take place from Sunday, August 7 to Friday, August 12, 2016. Registration is now open for children and young adults ages 10-24. Register online at: http://www.institute-christ-king.org. For more information, please contact the office at: (314) 771-3100.

E O R As you may have noticed, the organ is currently unplayable due to the malfunction of several ma-jor mechanical parts. One of the leading special-ists on pipe organ repair and restoration has in-spected our instrument and will provide us a de-tailed plan for both repair and restoration. It is clear that the reconstruction of this nearly century old organ is necessary, but at this time we don’t know what the financial commitment will be. As soon as we know more about the length and costs of the repair work, we will inform you. Please pray to St. Cecilia, the patron of sacred music.

In the interest of the common good of the Ora-tory community, we ask you kindly to keep the lavatories always clean and functional. Leave the toilets in the state in which you would like to find for your family and your guests, and help everyone, especially the children, to live up to this simple and basic principle. In the rest-rooms of the hall, one of our priests has had to clean the toilets and floors on numerous occa-sions, to make them usable again, after they had been left in an indescribable state. This cleanup was so unpleasant that we couldn’t ask our volunteers who already help us in so many ways.

If you would like to help us in the upkeep of the Oratory’s public bathrooms (church hall), please contact the rectory office.

We are pleased to announce that we have raised the funds necessary to pay the last installment of our window repair bill. We are now planning with the Emil Frei company the timeline when to start work on our new project, the windows above the St. Joseph altar (please see adjacent box).

May God reward you for your generosity! Our Lady of Perpetual Help, pray for us!

We hope to start on these two precious stained glass windows in the near future in order to stop the water intrusion and to provide additional insu-lation.

We have already collected $17,624.54 toward our new goal of $50,000.00. This is 35% of the total project volume!

We thank you again for your prayers and your extreme generosity!

TO ALL OUR GUESTS… Canon Wiener and the faithful of St. Francis de Sales Oratory welcome you, and hope that your time in the “Cathedral of South St. Louis” may be an opportunity to share in the tradition of the Roman Catholic Faith.

Please enjoy the beauty of this building dedicated to St. Francis de Sales, co-patron of the INSTITUTE OF CHRIST THE KING SOVEREIGN PRIEST.

According to liturgical tradition, and the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite, Holy Communion is received kneeling and on the tongue. All visitors who are not of the Catholic faith are welcome to join us in prayer, but are requested not to receive Holy Communion. Because the reception of Holy Communion is the sign of Divine and Ecclesial unity, only practicing Catholics who are free of mortal sin, and in full communion with the Catholic Church should present themselves for Holy Communion.

We pray for the full visible unity among all Christians.

To receive more information about the Oratory or if you desire to become a member of the Catholic Church, contact the rectory. St. Francis de Sales Oratory is an Oratory of the INSTITUTE OF CHRIST THE KING SOVEREIGN PRIEST in the Archdiocese of St. Louis. All contributions to the Oratory are sincerely appreciated and are tax deductible.
