LETABA HOSPITAL: A pa ent recently died at Letaba Hospital a er Eskom implemented loadshedding on Wednesday and the hospitals’ generator failed to supply power due to diesel shortage.

THE National Department of Health has established a task team to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of a patient or patients at Letaba Hospital last Wednesday.

While the department say only one person died, the DA insist that two people died as a result of negligence on the part of a hospital offi cials responsible for fueling the generator which failed to automatically switch on when electricity went off .

According to information received, Faith Malatji, who was admitted in the hospitals’ Intensive Care Unit (ICU) died when Eskom was implementing load shedding. It is alleged that Malatji, who was on a life support machine died when the hospital’s generator which apparently did not have diesel failed to switch on.

Departmental spokesperson, Joe Maila said the investigations will start this week to determine the cause of death (s).

Eskom’s spokesperson, Khutisa Ramotlou said the patients’ death is not Eskom’s fault. “The hospitals’ generator had insuffi cient diesel and Eskom cannot be blamed for that,” said Ramotlou.

The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the province has laid criminal charges on the department of health following the incident. DA’s spokesperson on health, Langa Bodlani said that an

un-fueled or faulty generator is a recurring problem at Letaba.

He claims it was the fi fth time the hospital generator did not have enough fuel to keep life support machines working.

DA claims two patients instead of one died. “It is scandalous that this gross negligence led to the death of two people. The Limpopo Department of Health is accountable and must put measures in place to ensure that all generators function all the time,” he said.

Faith’s uncle, Phillimon Malatji said the hospital did not inform them about his niece’s death and they only heard it on a radio bulletin. Bodlani maintains that the DA will on behalf of the bereaved family do the following: Get an independent pathologist to establish the cause and the time of death.

Assist the Malatji family to access legal recourse to take on the government and ensure that justice is done.

Ensure that hospital’s offi cials responsible for negligently causing the deaths of these patients are held accountable. Engage in a series of protest actions until the family’s demands are met.

“Our public healthcare system should be a model of excellence, empowering South Africans to live healthy and productive lives. There should be nothing less than full accountability for cases of extreme negligence, as witnessed at Letaba Hospital,” he said

A MENTALLY ill trainee traditional doctor who went missing on March 3 has been found and reunited with her family last Saturday.

According to the trainee’s mother, Mapula Moshape, Doreen Makgadile Moshape from Ga-Molepo in Polokwane was returned to her home by a social worker who works at a hospital in Groblesdaal.

At the time of disappearing Doreen was receiving treatment and training as a traditional doctor at Ga-Kubjana Village in Bolobedu South.

It is reported that Doreen was found by an ambulance on March 3 at night on the R71 and when asked where she was going she said home in Groblesdaal, that is why she was taken to a hospital in that area.

“When I asked her why she left Ga-Kubjana where she was training to become a traditional doctor she said she was being mistreated so she ran away at night with an aim to go back home” said the mother.

“I am just glad that she is home safely” concluded Mapula.

Water petition receives quick responseA water petition signed by over 800 residents in rural Tzaneen, and handed over by Lindy Wilson MP, the Democratic Alliance constituency head of the area, has received quick response.

The petition, which was presented in the National Assembly last week, has resulted in the calling of representatives of the communities to a Petition Adjudication Panel on Wednesday. Representatives from the Wards 24, 25, 26, 27, and 34 in the Greater Tzaneen Municipality area have been invited to the meeting, which was to take place at the Parliamentary Village, Hillary Street in Polokwane this week.

“It is an ideal opportunity for these communities to highlight the plight of thousands of people who live daily without access to water.

Water supply to these areas is nonexistent, water deliveries by the Municipality are inconsistent, and where there are boreholes, these have

not been functional for many years. Many residents have complained that they are forced to buy water, using their Child Support Grants, at vast expense from unscrupulous water dealers in the area,” said Wilson who is the DA’s constituency head for Tzaneen, Phalaborwa and Maruleng. Wilson said the DA is delighted at the quick response to the petition, and we are hopeful that efforts to rectify this untenable situation will receive as quick a response. “Access to water is a constitutional right and depriving people of a basic human right is criminal. The DA have made pleas through various structures over the last couple of years, and these have fallen on deaf ears.We trust that we will be heard on Wednesday and that urgent attention will be paid to the plight of the residents,” she said. She added that the petition and the Minister of Water and Sanitation, Nomvula Mokonyane’s quick response shows what can be done with support from communities.

Tzaneen: Police in Tzaneen have arrested 37 suspects for various criminal activities over the past week. According to Tzaneen police spokesperson, Constable Glenda Maimele, one suspect was arrested for common assault, fi ve for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, one for violation of protection order, four for shoplifting and four suspects ere arrested for theft.

Four suspects were arrested for shoplifting, four for theft, two for housebreaking and theft, one for robbery, two for possession of suspected stolen property, two for drugs and two suspects were arrested for malicious damage to property. One suspect was arrested for murder, three for illegal trading, two for prostitution, two for drunken driving, two for contravening the Liquor Act and three suspects were arrested for contravening the Road Traffi c Act.

Bolobedu: Police in Bolobedu have arrested 42 suspects for various criminal activities over the past week. According to Bolobedu police spokesperson, Constable Rebotile Shai, two suspects were arrested for rape,

four for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, three for pointing someone a witch, one for intimidation, two for common assault and two suspects were arrested for robbery. One suspect was arrested for drunken driving, two for reckless driving and negligent, one for dealing in dagga, one for violation of protection order and 33 suspects were arrested for public drinking.

Maake: Police in Maake have arrested 44 suspects for various criminal activities over the past week. According to Maake police spokesperson, Constable Rufus Magoro, fi ve suspects were arrested for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, three for robbery, one for rape, one for assault, one for burglary and one suspect was arrested for failure to comply with maintenance order. Seven suspects were arrested for possession of dagga, six for contravening the Liquor Act, one for driving under the infl uence of alcohol, 16 for contravening the Road Traffi c Act, one for shoplifting and one suspect was arrested for dagga cultivation.

THE Dept of Social Development has warned job seekers against applying for jobs at the department via Facebook and related social media platforms. The dept said it was aware that there were posts suggesting that both Social Development and the South Africa Social Security Agency (SASSA) have positions available, with SASSA having over 180 jobs available.

“There is a link on each post which takes you to a fake

website. At this stage scammers will steal your personal information. “It seems that the purpose of the scam is to mislead users into giving away their email addresses, amongst other details,” the department said.

The department is said to be looking for clerks and data capturers.

According to the police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, the attacks on foreign-owned shops were sparked by the killing of Samuel Ramatladi (27), allegedly by a foreign national on Saturday night. He said the victim who was working as a driver for foreign national shop owners was stabbed to death following

a heated argument during a drinking spree at Morutji village on Saturday night. Police reacted swiftly and managed to stop the looting from spreading to other areas,” said Ngoepe. He said the two suspects aged 24 and 40 were found in possession of suspected stolen goods. They were due to appear in the Bolobedu Magistrate’s Court at the time of going to press.Police are monitoring the situation in the area.

Aanvanklik het hulle gedink die bestuurder is onder die invloed, maar toe besef het dat dit dieselfde kliënt is aan wie hulle bystand verleen het, wat die bakkie probeer vaskeer.

Hy het Jacobs, ingelig dat dit sy bakkie is wat gesteel is.

Jacobs het die verdagte in Essenhoutstraat agterna gesit. In daardie stadium het hulle

Selfs al is daar nie druk verkeer nie, kan mens nooit seker wees dat ‘n aankomende voertuig wel gaan stop nie.

Ek was reeds verskeie kere in ‘n situasie waar die ander voertuig wat ‘n stop-teken verontagsaam het, ons morsdood sou gery het.

Dieselfde geld by kruisings met

verkeersligte. Die lig kan maar na rooi oorslaan, dit keer baie motoriste nie!

Baie motoriste dink dat wanneer hulle in ‘n voertuig is, hulle ‘untouchable’ is en nie in ‘n ongeluk kan sterf nie.

En ja, gewoonlik in dié situasies is daar geen verkeersman in sig nie!

Die situasie by Letaba Hospitaal, waar pasiënte gesterf het na ‘n kragonderbreking en daar nie brandstof in ‘n kragopwekker was nie, is kommerwekkend en verwarrend.Dit klink of verskillende partye verskoning soek vir die situasie. Dinsdagoggend is daar oor die radio beweer dat die uitslag van die pasiënt se dood, na ‘n lykskouing, natuurlike oorsake was.Die familie ontken dit. Daar is eers beweer drie pasiënte is dood. Nou is dit glo net een.Feit van die saak is, sulke goed moenie gebeur nie! In geen hospitaal nie! Gesondheid en die welstand van pasiënte in hospitale moet prioriteit wees, hetsy ‘n privaat of staats hospitaal.Die vakansie breek more aan en vanselfsprekend gaan daar ‘n verkeerstoename wees en noodgedwonge ongelukke.Geniet die vakansie, maar ry versig g en kom veilig terug.

Hy is in die St Mary’s hospitaal in Pretoria oorlede.

Leon was baie bekend in besigheidskringe en het talle eiendom besit, waaronder Ivory Tusk en Letaba River Lodge (Eco Park) van die bekendstes is.

Sy gesin sal hom onthou as ‘n nederige mens met baie omgee vir ander.

‘n Gedenkdiens is Saterdagoggend uit die NG Wolkberg kerk vir hom gehou.

Hy word oorleef deur sy vrou, Elize, vier kinders, André, Adele, Renier en Tanya, asook sewe kleinkinders.

Die familie bedank graag almal vir gebede, oproepe, ondersteuning, besoeke, boodskappe, ens tydens sy siekte en afsterwe. Dit het hulle deur ‘n baie moeilike tyd gedra.

MELISSA Strydom het verlede Woensdagoggend die goeie nuus ontvang dat die Good Morning Angels span van Jakaranda FM haar fi nansieël gaan bystaan sodat haar seun Tommie ‘n oor operasie kan ondergaan.

Strydom se seuntjie, Tommy (7) wat in gr2 is het ‘n ernstige gehoor probleem.

Hy het ‘n gat in sy oordrom.Sy het onlangs ‘n kwotasie by die Union hospitaal in

Alberton gekry. Die bedrag vir die operasie beloop glo R27 000.Sy beskik nie oor ‘n mediese fonds nie.Volgens haar sou die Tzaneen Lions ‘n fondsinsameling

van stapel stuur om te help om fondse te genereer vir sy operasie.

Maar ‘n niggie van haar, Christie Pithey het ‘n brief aan die radio program geskyf, en die Engele boodskap was spreekwoordelik teen die muur.

Riaan Davel van Davel, Van Rensburg en Matabane prokureurs fi rma dra R20 000 by tot die operasie.

En soos almal vir Melissa ken was daai uitbundige

lag (in die geval lag van verbasing en blydskap) weer hoorbaar.

Melissa is baie nou betrokke by liefdadigheids werk, en is altyd daar om die gemeenskap te help waar sy kan deur haar projekte wat sy loods.

Melissa, Tzaneen se gemeenskap sit nie net ‘n veer in jou hoed nie, maar klop jou ook op die skouer en salueer jou wat jy vir die gemeenskap beteken.

GREATER Tzaneen Municipality in partnership with Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA) hosted the 39th Youth Month Anniversary under the theme “Youth Moving South Africa Forward” at the Tzaneen Showgrounds on Friday.

Young people from all the fi ve local municipalities within the Mopani District Municipality attended the event and the attendance was very positive.

Stakeholders were invited to come and educate the youth on various issues which affect them in their everyday lives.

Unemployment, poverty, alcohol and substance abuse, peer pressure, illiteracy were among the issues which were discussed. Stakeholders did presentations and the audience was given a platform to ask questions.

The Greater Tzaneen Municipality Mayor

Dikeledi Mmetle together with her executive committee also attended the event where she spoke to the youth.

She gave them a background on the history of June 16, 1976.

“The Apartheid government introduced Bantu Education to ensure that the black communities remained inferior to the whites.

They knew that uneducated youth is easily fooled” said Mmetle.

She further said that the youth of 1976 were faced with inferior education but the youth of today are faced with worse because they get chances to go to school but they don’t use them.

“We must work together to eradicate illiteracy so that we overcome poverty and unemployment in our society.

Education is a societal matter and that is why as a municipality we give out bursaries every year to ensure that we assist the youth to get proper education” added Mmetle. When the youth were given a platform to

ask questions, one mentioned that the factor that leads youth to engage in drugs, alcohol and commit crimes is because there are no recreational facilities in rural areas and that they are struggling to get jobs.

“I was very impressed with the issues you raised. Some were very provoking but I am very glad you know what you want.

All points were mentioned in the discussions I assure you that as a municipality we will make sure that all your pleas are resolved” said Mmetle.

She also encouraged the youth to take advantage of government programmes to establish businesses.

Department of Health, Statistics South Africa, department of Labour, National Youth Development Agency,

SEDA, South African Youth Council and Greater Tzaneen Economic Development Agency were the stakeholders that attended and gave presentations.

ESKOM donated R15 000 to the Reholegile Drop-In Centre at Lenyenye.

Reholegile Drop-In Centre is a non profi t organization which accommodates homeless children and children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

“With the R15 000 donated to us by Eskom we bought chairs, tables, cooking utensils, cutlery, and laundry materials to help these children and make things easier for them” said Linah Letsoalo, the centre’s manager. On June 17, Eskom was offi cially handing

over all those goods bought with the money they donated to the centre.

“We are very happy with the donation made by Eskom to us” added Letsoalo.

The children at the centre entertained the crowd with Sarafi na and Mango Groove

dances.Among the people who attended were the

ward councilor and offi cials from Eskom and Department of Social Development and the community.

Baie talent tydens GospelfeesDIE Tzaneen Gospelfees vind vanjaar op 3 tot 5 Julie by die konferensiesentrum van Tzaneen Country Lodge plaas.

‘Ongeloofl ik opwindend’ is hoe Adri Kruger, voorsitter van die 2015 Tzaneen Gospelfees dit beskryf.

Nou in sy derde jaar beloof die Tzaneen Gospelfees om hierdie jaar beter as ooit te wees!

Entries are now open to those interested in participating in the fundraising event. The day’s event features a 21.1km strenuous run over rough single track mountain paths, which go to the summit of the highest mountain in Limpopo – the Iron Crown. There is also a shorter 10km distance and also a 5km fun run/walk for families and dogs! The scenery on the trail is pristine and spectacular. The start and fi nish are on the central market square in the village of Haenertsburg. Funds raised will go to “Preserve Planet Earth” projects which aim to protect and promote a sustainable environment, and other community projects.

Finaliste reik uit‘N Groep van die Hoërskool Ben Vorster se mnr. en mej. Vossie fi naliste het na die plaaslike kinderhuis, Noah’s Ark, uitgereik op 12 Junie.

Elke mens het die vermoë om vreeslik baie van hom-/haarself te leer as hy/sy kan deel wees van iets groter as hom-/haarself. Presies dit is wat die Vossies daardie dag ervaar het.

Met die warmte van braaivleisvure, die vrolike klank van kinderlaggies en die heerlike geur van boereworsrolle in die lug, het die Vossies ‘n koue wintersdag gaan opkikker met

liefde en omgee. Die Vossies het swaar afskeid

geneem toe daar gegroet was. Noah’s Ark kinderhuis en die

mnr. en me. Vossie fi naliste wil graag hulle dank uitspreek teenoor almal wat gehelp het met borge en donasies, wat verseker het dat nog 1078 doek-ruilings vir Noah’s Ark se kleingoed gewaarborg is.

Vossie rugby seëvier teen FrikkiesDIE Hoërskool Ben Vorster se O/14A-, O/16A- en 1ste spanne het die afgelope naweek op Thabazimbi aan die Limpopo semi-fi nale vir groot skole deelgeneem. DIE O/14B-, O/15B- en O/16B-spanne het in die Limpopo fi nale gespeel.

Die O/15A-span is alreeds deur na die fi naal nadat Tom Naudé onttrek het.

Die O/14A-span het teen Frikkie Meyer te staan gekom. Die jong buffeltjies het in ‘n spannende wedstryd 17 elk gelykop gespeel, maar gelukkig vir die Vossies het hulle die eerste drie gedruk en hulle gaan dus deur na dié fi naal op die tegniese punt.

Hulle het hul fi naal gewen met 38 – 0.Die O/16A-span het teen Tom Naude te staan gekom. Gedurende die eerste helfte het die Vossies met rukke

en stote gespeel, maar in die tweede helfte het hulle vlam gevat en hulle opponente deurmekaar gehardloop om met ‘n telling van 57 – 0 te seëvier.

Die O/16B-span het het ook hul junior rugbydae op ‘n hoogtepunt afgesluit deur Frikkie Meyer met 42 – 7 te wen. Hierdie spannetjie word vir die derde jaar agtereenvolgens as Limpopo kampioene gekroon en het slegs een wedstryd in die drie jaar verloor.

VYF spanlede van Hoërskool Merensky se bergfi etsklub het op 20 Junie die strawwe plaaslike XCO-baan op Agatha aangedurf in die NTT Toyota XCO Bergfi ets uitdaging.

Die Plasie-trappers het baie goed gevaar. Christelle Coetzer behaal ‘n eersteplek in die meisies o/14 afdeling, en Armand Cronjé neem ook ‘n eersteplek in die seuns o/14 afdeling.

In die o/16 ouderdomsgroep het die

Plasies die eerste- en tweedeplekke losgetrap met goud vir Robert Retief en silwer vir Sheldon Muller. Angus Dalrymple-Hay het ook deelgeneem, en as nuweling baie goed gevaar.

Die XCO-baan wissel tussen 3 tot 6 kilometer waarvan die deelnemers 3 of 4 rondes moet doen afhangend van hul ouderdom.

VIER meisiehokkie-spanne van Hoërskool Merensky het op 20 Junie aan die Limpopo semi-fi nale te Potgietersrus deelgeneem.

Die o/15A-span het teen Hoërskool Hans Strijdom van Naboomspruit te staan gekom en moes die knie buig met ‘n telling van 4-0.

Die o/16A-span het na ‘n baie goeie wedstryd 2-0 verloor teen Hoërskool Piet Potgieter.

Die tweedespan het in die doodsnikke van die wedstryd 1-0 verloor teen Hoërskool Frikkie Meyer van Thabazimbi.

Die Plasies se vlagskip kon net nie teen

Hoërskool Ben Viljoen van Groblersdal die wa deur die drif trek nie en het 2-0 verloor. Leandi Toerien en Juané Fernandes het uitstekende spel gelewer.

Volgens Nadia Last,meisieshokkie-organiseerder, was die

afgelope seisoen ‘n besondere goeie een wat onder andere 11 Limpopo spelers opgelewer het.

Sy sien saam met die spelers uit na die drie hokkie sewes toernooie wat in Augustus hierdie jaar onderskeidelik by Hoërskool Merensky en in Pretoria plaasvind.

Sekgopo hosts Mayor’s Cup finals

TROPHY: The Mayor of the Greater Letaba Municipality, City Modjadji handing over the soccer category winners trophy to Collins Maloaditlhare.

THE fi nals of the annual Greater Letaba Municipality Mayor’s Cup took place at the newly built Sekgopo Sports Complex on Saturday.

Shaya Black Pool from Ward 20 won the male soccer category of the completion, popularly known as the Wolksburg Cup after beating Impala and City Rocks 3-2 and 6-1 respectively. In ladies soccer, Lebaka Ladies thrashed Thibeni 4-0 to win the title. Matshediso Rampedi netted a brace while her team mates Lebo Rasuki and Precious Nkuna scored a goal apiece to give their team a well deserved win.

Sekgopo netball team used a home ground advantage to defeat Mighty Queens 36-6 in the fi nals while Rathaga Gymnastics were the

winners in their category.The winners received playing kits,

trophies, medals and sports equipments from the Mayor of the Greater Letaba Municipality, City Modjadji.

Mayor Modjadji said the newly built Sekgopo Sports Complex is part of the municipality programme to develop sports facilities in rural areas.

“By developing sports facilities we are creating a conducive environment for nurturing and unearthing hidden talent in this previously disadvantaged areas,’ said Modjadji.

He said they are planning to make the tournament a family sports day where everyone will participate.

LADIES SOCCER: The Mayor, City Modjadji with the ladies soccer champions, Lebaka Ladies.

GYMNASTICS: Rathaga won the gymnas cs category.

NETBALL: Madumeleng Mighty Queens came second in the netball category at the Greater Letaba Municipality Mayor’s Cup which took place at the Sekgopo Sports Complex.

ATLETE van Tzaneen Marathon Club het Tzaneen se naam hoog gehou en aan die besondere en geskiedkundige 90ste Comrades Ultra Marathon op 31 Mei deelgeneem.

Met groot trots wil hulle dan aan die volgende atlete geluk wens met elk se prestasie. Hulle wil graag een atleet uitsonder, Derik Donkin wat 23 jaar gelede sy eerste Comrades Marathon voltooi het en vanjaar ‘n terugkeer gemaak het en sy tweede wedloop voltooi het.

Mag dit vir elk ‘n inspirasie wees en onthou daar is altyd hoop.

Soos hy dan ook tereg gesê het na die Comrades: “Comrades is not a race - it’s a journey”.

Aan elke atleet wat deelgeneem het ongeag of hy/sy die wedloop voltooi het of a g v mediese redes gedwing is om te ontrek, Tzaneen Marathon Club is voorwaar trots op elkeen van sy klublede.

So terloops vir die wat graag hul droom wil bewaarheid: Comrades Marathon 2016 vindvolgende jaar op 29 Mei plaas.

Hou in gedagte dat dit ‘n af wedloop gaan wees. Sluit by die klub aan en begin oefen. Dit is ‘n ervaring van ‘n leeftyd en wat jy nog vir baie lank sal onthou.

Novice beteken dat dit ‘n atleet se eerste keer is wat hy/sy die wedloop aanpak, sou hulle die wedloop voltooi en die daarop volgende jaar weer die wedloop suksesvol voltooi ontvang hulle ‘n ekstra medjale naamlik die “Back to Back” medalje.

Hierdie is die aansporing om nie net een keer deel te neem nie maar te werk vir daardie gesogte ekstra medalje.

Dan net namens die atlete ‘n woord van dank aan al die ondersteuners, familie en vriende wat elke atleet gedurende die voorbereidings tydperk en die dag van die wedloop aangemoedig het.

Ons as atlete waardeer dit opreg en sonder julle sou dit maar redelik doelloos gewees het, nou het elke ‘n tree ‘n rede gehad.

Nie net offer die atlete tyd op nie maar die familie en vriende moet baie keer maar agter in die ry staan vir ‘n bietjie aandag wanneer die hardlopers hul program volg.

Atlete hou ons naam hoog Die Vakansiegangers Kompetisie, dames pare, van ATKV Eiland Spa se rolbalklub het op 9 tot 12 Junieplaasgevind. Naas Gouws, klubpresident,

het die pryse en die trofeë oorhandig.

Letaba verloor in puik wedstrydLETABA se eerstespan het Saterdag die onderspit met 28 - 15 gedelf in Pietersburg teen Noordelikes.

Daar moet melding gemaak word van skeidsregter, Willie Coetzee wat ‘n puik wedstryd met die fl uitjie gehad het. Al die toeskouers was dit eens dat hierdie een van die beste wedstryde van die jaar was.

‘n Letaba eerstespan wat se agterlyn veral vanjaar ernstig deur beserings ontwrig is, het dapper gespeel en weer eens die spel voorlangs oorheers. Indien daar egter met die vyfde losskakel en agste senterpaar vir die seisoen opgedraf word, is daar geen kontinuiteit nie en sal dit altyd moeilik gaan teen ‘n ervare span soos Noordelikes.

Voorlangs was Quinten Kruger, Scheepers Lubbe, JP Schwartz, Piccaso Coetzer en Eben Fichardt ysters. Uwe Sauwer, wat nou self eers onlangs van bosluiskoors herstel het en nieteenstaande die fi ksheid wat gelol het, het beindruk met sy kraglopies.

Slot, Marnus Labuschagne moes die veld vroeg verlaat met ‘n besering en dit lyk of die beseringspook net nie wil wyk by Letaba nie.

Uwe Sauwer en plaasvervanger, Gom Vuma het Letaba se drieë gedruk en Leroy Ndlovu het met sy skopskoen vir die res van die

punte gesorg.Letaba se tweedespan het

in ‘n klipharde wedstryd Dendron geklop met 28-10. Letaba het ‘n baie jong tweedespan en na ‘n aanvanklike gesukkel vroeër in die seisoen weens die baie beserings in die klub, het hulle hulle ritme nou begin vind en speel hulle prag rugby.

‘n Baie jong agterlyn met hope spoed, veroorsaak groot probleme vir hulle teenstanders. Brendon Ramotsama, ‘n jong senter, het hierdie jaar eers begin rugby speel en daar is ‘n blink toekoms vir hom by Letaba.

Dendron het die wedstryd probeer oorheers met hulle swaar pak, maar verbete verdediging en harde hardlooprugby het uiteindelik Letaba as die oorwinnaars van die veld laat afstap.

Uitblinkers vir Letaba was Aalwyn van der Lith, Janus van Loggenberg, die broers, Wikus en Derik Steyn. Losskakel, Gom Vuma was takties briljant en heelagter, Lenus van Rooyen was weer eens ‘n rots onder die hoë balle en Marnu van Wyk het beindruk op vleuel.

Brendon Ramotsama (2), Marnu van Wyk en plaasvervanger, Wally Denton het drieë gedruk vir Letaba en Gom Vuma het alvier die drieë verdoel.

LETABA DELF ONDERSPIT: Letaba se eerstespan na ‘n wedstryd twee weke gelede. Hulle het die naweek teen Noordelikes verloor.
