Trumpet TRINITY BAPTIST CHURCH VOLUME 35 • ISSUE 8 AUGUST 2011 Grow What You Know Grow what you know is our theme for the fall. The concept is simple. I believe God wants our church to go to another level. I have always believed the strongest churches are those who have people who are passionately in love with God. So this fall I want to challenge each member of TBC to grow in the three areas they know best. First, grow yourself. Take time to develop your own spiritual walk. This growth may mean spending more time in the word. It may mean an extended prayer schedule or maybe memorizing a Bible passage. Second, grow your family. There will be many chances this fall for you to grow as a family, including a family discipleship class on Sunday nights designed to help you understand God’s will for your family. There will be family worship guides in the bulletin to aid families desiring to grow together during the week. Third, grow your ministry. We have asked every member at Trinity to serve somewhere. So, wherever you are serving (Sunday School, Choir, Greeter etc.) pray about how you can grow in that ministry. So what we’re asking is for you to “Grow what you know”. TBC Family Ministry TBC Family Ministry is about glorifying God by equipping families to disciple their children. The class being offered beginning on September 11th is the culmination of my two year doctoral study. It is intended to help anyone with children (or those thinking about having children) to have the tools they need to make God the center of their homes. Of course you don’t have to have children, but much of what we will be talking about is the biblical role parents play in seeing that their children love and follow God. This class will last ten weeks and be divided into five sections around worship, discipleship, evangelism, ministry and fellowship in the home. The key will be helping each family realize Jesus has put us together for a Kingdom purpose. Each husband, wife and child has a role and together as families we can accomplish so much if we are focused on God. The best part of the class will be a time when each family comes up with your own plan for how you will allow God to use you as a family for His glory. I look forward to growing with you and getting to know you and your families better. Eddie Coakley John 3:30 Discovery Classes! August 7th, 14th, and 21st in Room 233 Got Questions? Get answers.
