New Family Ministry

We will begin a new chapter in the life of our church in the fall. starting in December TBC will begin to offer a new ministry centered on equipping families to be all God would want

them to be. The goal of this family-equipping ministry is to teach moms, dads and caretakers how to make their houses into homes of worship. i’ve thought about and worked on this project for two years.

over those two years i have become convinced that one of the great weaknesses in the church’s discipleship method is that we are not obedient to the command of Deuteronomy 6 and ephesians 6 where parents, and specifically fathers, are called to train and equip children in the ways of the lord.

The Bible teaches that there should be a partnership between the church and home. What happens at home should mirror what takes place in our churches. The idea is that the primary discipler in a child’s life should be their dad or mom or caretaker and not a preschool director, children’s director, or youth pastor. instead, these leaders are here to enforce and guide little ones and youth on how to do what they have learned in the home on a corporate level.

on sunday nights, beginning september 11, i will be leading a ten week class that will help you to make your home a home of worship. since this is part of my doctoral project i will need a few “super committed” families who would be willing to do some extra work during this course. if you are interested in attending the class or being one of the “super committed” please send an e-mail to melinda in the church office.

regardless of whether you still have children in your home or not, please pray for the families of our church and that our church will be faithful to fulfill their role to biblically equip families.

Worship Musical: ”Shelter”

Rehearsals begin Wednesday, July 6th at 6:30pm

The TBC Worship Choir will begin rehearsals for a musical that will be presented in september.

This summer project is a great opportunity to come and “check out” what it means to be part of the Worship Choir. We invite all who may be interested!
