SEMINAR: CQC Tactics of Pekiti-Tirsia Kali Tuhon Rommel Tortal will be providing an intense seminar focusing on the use of edged and impact weapons with an emphasis in environments with multiple attackers. This seminar will focus on the combat drills and tactical application of Pekiti-Tirsia Kali. Students will receive a clear understanding of the skillsets necessary for to deal with a skilled weapon-bearing adversary. Instructor Tuhon Rommel Tortal’s martial specialty is the use of edged and impact weapon usage in Close Quarter Combat scenarios. He is the Chief Instructor of the Edged-Impact Weapons Tactical Combat training for the Philippine Marine Corps and the Philippine National Police Special Action Force. Trained directly by the head of the Pekiti-Tirsia Kali System; Grand Tuhon Leo T. Gaje, his technical execution of the art and skill at instructing it represent the benchmark of quality in Pekiti-Tirsia Kali. Pekiti-Tirsia Kali Pekiti-Tirsia Kali is a traditional family system of Filipino martial arts that traces its existence back to a time and place when the carry and use of the bladed weapon was common for both war and daily use. It is a system of combat-proven strategies, tactics, and techniques executed through the principle of offense and counter-offense. Today it is the official close-quarters combat system for the Philippine Marine Corps.
