    Analysis of the development of a socio-economic dimensions requires knowledge resources it has and how they are used. In this work aimed to provide information on existing national relevance to mountain areas of Romania to complete the existing information system. From the analysis of tourist potential of resulting in a score of 3.8 points overall. In the mountain areas have been identified 19 tourist resorts of national interest, 11 tourist resorts and 15 local spa.

    Under existing legislation, the criteria for certification of tourist resort had the following components:

    Each of these criteria have been broken down into sub. Demarcation of the mountain area was based on the characteristics

    stipulated in the Law Mountain (elevation greater than 600 m and between 400-600 m with slope greater than 150) and Montana weaker area shown in the National Program of Rural Development (3).

    The use of statistical analysis are specific and consist in determining the aggregate, the county averages in the mountain area and share the phenomena investigated.

    RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS

    Average score obtained on the tourist potential of towns in Mountain Area 3.8 points out of maximum of 10, 25.6% higher than the overall score at the national level.

    The counties with the highest average scores on the area is mountainous county with 5.1 points Neam, Satu Mare and Sibiu county with 5.0 points (fig. 1) .

    County, Maramure county Desesti, Banita Bosorod and Hunedoara. Municipalities which have obtained 9 points in this assessment are Agapia and Vanatori Neamt County Neam, Sucevita, Vatra Moldovitei and Humorului Monastery in Neam County, Polovragi in Prahova County, Barsana, Ieud, Poienile Iza and Sisesti Maramures County, Birtan Valley Viilor Sibiu county.

    The lowest average score was obtained in a mountainous area Bacu counties by 2.2 points, 2.6 Prahova Vlcea points and 2.9 points. (fig. 1).

    Mountain Area These results represent average values and can not exclude the

    existence of a potential small area with high average. Analysis of the results on the tourist resort of national interest in the

    area show that Mountain Area is such a common 19 of 37 national joint (fig. 2). Basically, in this space is 51.4% of the tourist resorts of national interest identified at the national level.

  • FACULTATEA DE MANAGEMENT AGRICOL The mountain which holds most of the resorts is the national interest

    of the county Prahova mountain with a number of 4. In a mountainous area and Vlcea Suceava counties are 3 tourist

    resort of national interest and in mountainous areas of the county of Bacau is 2 resorts such.

    Mountainous area of Arad, Bistrita Nasaud, Brasov, Caras Severin, Covasna, Harghita Hunedoara and holds one tourist resort of national interest and the rest of the counties do not have any resort of this kind.

    State tourism resort of local interest in the Mountain Area indicate a smaller number of common identified a total of 11 stations over 45 nationally representing 24.4% of them (fig. 3).

    Average tourist resort of local interest is 0.4 with maximum of two stations in the county of Alba, Brasov, Harghita and Maramure, one in the counties of Arges, Vrancea and Hunedoara and in any other area mountain counties.

    The area encompasses 15 mountain resort spas in 36 nationally, representing 41.7% of them. Most of them are in the Mountain Area of Harghita, Prahova and Vlcea number 2 on the spa district. The average number of spa on the county is 0.6 (fig. 4).

    CONCLUSIONS

    Analysis of tourist potential of the area mountain reveals a score of

    3.8 points overall, with 25.6% higher than the national score. In the Mountain Area is 19 tourist resorts of national interest, 11

    tourist resorts and 15 local spa.
