ITINERARIES MAY START AND FINISH FROM ANY DESTINATION.

Gravity Centre: A Cathedral of Science with soaring ceilings, magnificent murals and stunning exhibits. Includes the Cosmos Centre Australia’s biggest & best equipped public observatory.

St Anne’s Church: This charming Anglican Church, constructed in 1886, has an interesting Gothic Arch for its entry and is constructed of local sandstone.

Wolba Cottage-Aggie’s Cottage: This brick, stone and iron cottage was erected in 1871 has a fresh water lake only 50 metres away with many different species of water birds.

Regan’s Ford: A pleasant, shady picnic spot on the banks of the Moore River. It is the site of an old stone crossing which was constructed in 1876. The Windmill Roadhouse is situated approx. 300mtrs North West of the Bridge and well known for its large Windmill.

The Dandaragan Way: A wonderful scenic tourist drive of running creeks, rolling hills, historic buildings, marri trees & thousands of cockatoos. A recommended alternative scenic drive from Regan’s Ford through Dandaragan to Badgingarra or Waddi Bush Resort.

Waddi Farm Bush Resort: This Resort is located 3 kms south off Koonah Rd & only 3 kms east of Brand Highway. Consists of many types of rammed earth accommodation, caravan park and restaurant.

Molar Hill Lookout: Approx. 12kms north of Cervantes, on the Jurien - Cervantes Road. Slight aerial view of the coastline between Cervantes and Jurien Bay.

Nambung National Park: The park covers an area of 17,487 hectares from Cervantes to 2 kms south of Grey. It contains the Pinnacles, Pinnacles Desert and has an extensive list of bird life and native fauna, with abundant wildflowers in spring. (No Dogs)

Pinnacles Desert Loop Drive: Situated 18 kms by sealed road south east of Cervantes. A 2wd one-way loop track leads through the Pinnacles Desert. Observe thousands of limestone pillars, some up to 4 metres tall. This track is not suitable for caravans & trailers. Should be left in Cervantes.

Hansen Bay Lookout: One km South along Hanson Bay Road is a stunning view of Hansen Bay, the Islands, Lake Thetis and the townsite of Cervantes. Also a part of Cervantes walk trail which is very popular for many visitors.

Lake Thetis and Stromatolites: Situated 2kms south east of Cervantes on Hansen Bay Road. The Stromatolites grow around the lakes perimeter and are the oldest known living, single celled organisms on earth.

Sea Lion Colonies: Sea Lions are a major tourist attraction in the Jurien Bay Marine Park they have fluctuating large colonies which inhabit the islands off Cervantes and Jurien Bay. Accessible by boat only. Tours available.

Stock Yard Gully Caves: Situated 12km East of Leeman off Cockleshell Gully Road. The cave has an intermittent stream with bats hanging from the roof. Accessible by 4wd only.

Sandy Cape Recreational Park: Situated13 kms north of Jurien. This intriguing beach front camping site is superb for swimming, snorkelling and beach fishing. Has a full time ranger and caretaker on site.

Grigson’s Lookout: Situated between Jurien and Greenhead this historical site offers panoramic views of the lakes, hills, farming land and coastline which are unseen from the coastal road.

Lake Indoon: Lake Indoon is a freshwater A-class reserve popular with water skiers and nature lovers alike. Situated between Leeman and Eneabba just south of the Coolimba – Eneabba Road.

Eneabba: Eneabba is in the centre of a sand plains region where large Mineral Sands mining occurs, producing a large percentage of the world’s rutile production.

Hi- Vallee Farm: Situated on the Tootbardie Road 10 kms south of the Warradarge Roadhouse. Specialising in wildflower and farm tours, sheep shearing, billy tea and damper.

Badgingarra National Park: Consisting of 13,121 hectares, set aside for the preservation of many wildflowers. A stimulating 2km walk trail has been established on the west side of the Brand Hwy. Brochures obtained from the Badgingarra Roadhouse

Vern Westbrook Walk in Phoebe’s Reserve: Between the original Badgingarra town site and the new is a 1.6 km Heritage & Wildflower walk. Explore along the Hill River in the footsteps of cattle drovers of the last century. Visit the slit trenches dug during World War 2.

Moora: The largest town between Perth & Geraldton. Rich in agriculture, history and natural beauty. The town has many very large outstanding murals.

Lang Lookout Dinner Hill: Situated 18 kms North East of Badgingarra on Dinner Hill Road. Lang lookout is an elevated site giving extensive long distance vistas of the surrounding countryside of rich farming land with scenic rolling hills.

Coomberdale Wildflower Farm: A very popular tourist attraction with a large range of dried and fresh wildflower arrangements and souvenirs. Situated just east of Coomberdale.

New Norcia: Founded by Dom Rosendo Salvado in 1846, today is the home of 16 Benedictine Monks. The architecture, with its strong Spanish flavour, dominates the Australian bush setting.

Bindoon: Situated in the heart of the Chittering Valley well known for it’s large variety of orchards. Has many first class Bed and Breakfast accommodation establishments.

3-5 DAY WILDFLOWER TOUR Total 859 kms

Depart Perth at Midland, turn left onto Great Northern Highway through the many vineyards of the Swan Valley enroute to Bindoon. Travel through the picturesque Chittering Valley and enjoy produce from local orchards and wineries. Next highlight is New Norcia, Australia’s only Spanish Benedictine Monastic town with unique heritage architecture and museum. Then head to the historic Walebing Farm next to Bindi Bindi and Miling through farming country and more wildflowers. One of the state’s largest grain growing towns is Dalwallinu, famous for its large number of wattle species. To the north you find Wubin with its Wheat-bin Museum. Enroute to Moora via Watheroo call in and see Coomberdale Wildflower Farm. Seeing the murals of Moora is a must too. Travelling to Badgingarra via North West Rd, with a walk on one of the nature trails and sample the wonderful Kwongan richness. Travelling onto Mt. Lesueur, 28 km east of Jurien on Cockleshell Gully Road, the world’s centre of floral diversity. After calling in at one of the many cafès or staying overnight in Jurien, continue on to Cervantes with the famous Pinnacles and Stromatolites for some stunning photographs. Return to Perth via the scenic Dandaragan Way and Regan’s Ford, with a stop at Gingin and the Gravity Discovery Centre.

2-3 DAY PERTH – PINNACLES COUNTRY – PERTH Total 741 kms

First stop is the Yanchep National Park to see the Koalas & Kangaroos, travelling via Mitchell Freeway to Ocean Reef Road then Wanneroo Road – Lancelin Road. Next stop is Guilderton, a small popular holiday town on the mouth of the Moore River. Explore the upper reaches of the river and its wildlife with a River Cruise. Travel to Lancelin, famous for windsurfing, surfing and the massive sand dunes for sand-boarding. For extra excitement a Desert Storm Adventure Tour over the dunes is a must. A scenic drive through Dandaragan, calling in at Waddi Bush Resort on Koonah Rd or via the two Cataby Roadhouses will lead you to Cervantes, home of the famous Pinnacles in the Nambung National Park.

A sunset in the Nambung National Park is highly recommended for photo enthusiasts. You experience stunning scenic views over the desert to the ocean. After visiting the other sights of Cervantes, including the Stromatolites, stay overnight at one of the various accommodation outlets in town. Next day head north along the Indian Ocean Drive towards Jurien Bay, on your way out, 12 kms from Cervantes, you can take a stroll up Molar Hill Lookout for a nice ocean view. Having reached Jurien Bay, visit the Marina to view the Crayfishing fleet or try your luck at fishing from the old jetty. Continue your journey to Greenhead via the beautiful beaches of Sandy Cape. In Greenhead a visit to Dynamite Bay is a must for all visitors and after seeing the lovely sights of Leeman travel to the Brand Highway via Lake Indoon. On the way to Badgingarra National Park wildflower walks call into Hi-Vallee Farm for a farm experience with sheepdogs, shearing and Billy tea. Travel on to New Norcia stopping at Moora to view their wonderful murals. Take a tour of the Spanish Benedictine Monastic town of New Norcia with its historical buildings and museum. Return back to Perth via the vineyards and orchards of Bindoon.

2-3 DAY PERTH – PINNACLES COUNTRY – NEW NORCIA - AVON VALLEY - PERTH Total 801 kms

Depart Perth via the picturesque Swan Valley and through the many vineyards on Great Northern Highway. Follow the Brand Highway to scenic Gingin. Look out for the water wheel in the attractive Granville Park on the Gingin Brook. Continue north on the Brand Highway passing hectares of Olive and Pawlonia Trees. A lunch break at Regan’s Ford or Cataby makes you feel like a stroll up Yandin Lookout on Yandin Road just south of Cataby. Take the alternative scenic route via Dandaragan and Waddi Bush Resort. Call in to the Visitor Centre at Cervantes and ask about all the wonderful things to see. Then visit the Pinnacles at sunset before bedding down at one of the many accommodation houses situated in Cervantes or Jurien Bay. Visit Jurien Bay with its Marina and other interesting sights, the Sea Lion Tour is extremely popular. Dynamite Bay at Greenhead and the wonderful sights of Leeman. Four Wheel Drivers can visit the fascinating Stock Yard Gully Caves east of Leeman or arrange a tour. Call in to Lake Indoon on the way back to the Brand Highway situated on the southern side of the Coolimba- Eneabba Road. While in Badgingarra the wildflower walk opposite the roadhouse is very attractive. The murals of Moora is a must on the way to the Spanish Benedictine Monastic town of New Norcia. Travel back to Perth via the Avon Valley towns of Toodyay, Northam and the lovely historical town of York.

2 DAY SCENIC WILDFLOWER SELF DRIVE TOUR Total 502 kms

Depart from the coastal town of Jurien and drive north before turning onto the Jurien East Road. A short detour to Mt Lesueur National Park will be a highlight for wildflower enthusiasts. Continue east, call into Coomallo Park Chalets on Nylagarda Road for morning tea before stopping in at Coomallo Nature Reserve on the Brand Highway.

Now you have two options: Option A: Turn right at Tootbardi Road (unsealed 2WD Road). If desired call in at Hi-Vallee Farm for an organised wildflower tour. Continue to the Coorow-Greenhead Road and turn right to the historical town of Coorow. Option B: Stopping in at the Warradarge Roadhouse for lunch before turning right onto the Coorow-Greenhead Road with 70 km of wildflowers.

Turn left off Midlands Road at Gunjidi Road to Wubin then Dalwallinu. Turning right 7 kms south of Miling on the Moora- Miling Road visit the murals of Moora. Journeying along the North West Road to Badgingarra, the home of the Black and Green Kangaroo Paw, walking one of three wildflower trails. Continue driving towards the coast along Cadda Rd (gravel) or travelling the sealed Bibby Road. Both roads showcasing large areas of national park. Visit Cervantes and Thirsty Point before stopping in at Hangover Bay on the way to the spectacular Pinnacles. Watch the sunset over the Pinnacles Desert from the lookout, before returning to Jurien for dinner at one of the many eating places in the town.

1-2 DAY – PINNACLES COUNTRY Total 245 kms

After a morning stroll walking Hansen Bay Lookout and filming shots of the Stromatolites, depart Cervantes, travel north to Jurien Bay, not forgetting a walk up Molar Hill Lookout 12 kms along the Indian Ocean Drive. Have morning tea at one of the cafes before stopping at the Jurien Marina. Call in to Sandy Cape and walk up to Grigson Lookout before continuing on to Dynamite Bay in Greenhead. The scenery is stunning! A short distance north is the popular fishing town of Leeman, again wonderful coastal scenery. Drive east along the Coolimba Road calling into Lake Indoon a favourite skiing spot, then on to the small mining town of Eneabba and Warradarge Roadhouse. A Farm experience and wildflower tour at Hi-Vallee Farm is a wonderful idea, then call in at Coomallo Park Chalets on Nylagarda Road for an overnight stay or simply a delicious afternoon tea before travelling back to Cervantes via Canterbilling Road and Munbinea Road.

2-3 DAY– PINNACLES COUNTRY Total 439 kms

Leave Cervantes, travel to New Norcia via Waddi Bush Resort for an overnight stay or a lovely meal. Take a slight detour to the picturesque, small, historic town of Dandaragan. After sighting the murals of Moora a tour at the Spanish Benedictine Monastic town of New Norcia is well worthwhile. New Norcia is famous for its unique architecture and museum. The monks are famous for their wine, olive oil, nut cake and other produce. Travel to Regan’s Ford stopping at the Mogumber Tavern. Then stretch your legs with a walk up Yandin Lookout before having coffee or lunch at one of the Cataby Roadhouses. A walk through the Badgingarra National Park’s wildflower trail is a memorable encounter, particularly in the main wildflower season. Call into Badgingarra Roadhouse for a free copy of the walk trail booklet. Journey on to Jurien Bay after an overnight stop at Coomallo Park Chalets and enjoy their coffee and homemade scones.

Option 1: Drive on to Mt Lesueur National Park home to over 900 species of wildflowers.

Option 2: Travel to Leeman after a Wildflower Tour at Hi-Vallee Farm and visit Lake Indoon on Coolimba Road. After viewing or staying overnight at the picturesque Leeman Caravan Park, journey on to Greenhead via the very scenic beach road. A must is a visit to Dynamite Bay before heading back to Jurien Bay via Grigson Lookout and Sandy Cape. After visiting the sights of Jurien Bay satisfy your appetite at one of the many eating places in town. Take a short walk to the top of Molar Hill and finish your stay viewing the Pinnacles at Sunset and bedding down at the Cervantes Accommodation from our advertising section.

1-2 DAY – CENTRAL AND SOUTH TURQUOISE COAST REGION Total 536 kms

After leaving the exciting seaside town of Lancelin and a Tour on Desert Storm Adventures, travel south to Guilderton situated on the mouth of the Moore River. Take a River Cruise, then after a lovely morning tea or lunch at Willow Brook Farm, visit the amazing Gravity Discovery Centre on Gingin Brook Road. Picturesque Gingin and Granville Park with its water wheel would be your next stop, then call in at Cataby or Regan’s Ford for afternoon tea. Sunset at the Pinnacles would be your next scenic highlight. After staying overnight in one of the accommodation outlets in Cervantes, visit Hansen Bay Lookout, before continuing on to Jurien Bay to enjoy a fascinating Sea Lion Tour. Jurien Bay also offers a wide range of places to satisfy your lunch appetite including the Lesueur Café and Caltex Service Station. Travel on to Badgingarra via Mt Lesueur and Coomallo Park Chalets for afternoon tea or an overnight stay. Experience the huge variety of wildflowers in Coomallo Nature Reserve or Badgingarra National Park. Travel the scenic Dandaragan Way back to Lancelin via Regan’s Ford.

2 DAY WILDFLOWER SELF DRIVE OF THE TURQUOISE COAST Total 350 kms

After departing the fast growing crayfishing and holiday town of Jurien Bay, travel east to Cockleshell Gully Road and Mt. Lesueur with over 900 species of wildflowers. Enjoy some nice coffee and homemade cakes at Coomallo Park Chalets on your way to Hi-Vallee Farm (a further 50kms east of Mt Lesueur) where you can sight over 1,000 hectares of beautiful wildflowers on an organised tour. In Badgingarra you find 3 great wildflower walk trails (pick up a free map from the Badgingarra Roadhouse). Heading along the North West Road and Coomberdale West Road (26 kms gravel) visit Coomberdale Wildflower Farm before visiting the interesting murals of Moora. Continue west to the picturesque town of Dandaragan among the many Marri Trees (Red Gums), historic buildings, running creeks, rolling hills and thousands of white Corellas. The next stop for lunch, coffee or overnight stay is the large rammed earth and bush setting of Waddi Bush Resort off Koonah Road among many wildflowers. On your way to Cervantes along Bibby Road you will again pass through a different section of Badgingarra National Park. After visiting Nambung National Park and the Pinnacles at sunset choose one of the many accommodation options in Cervantes or Jurien Bay from the advertisements on this map. Finishing this wonderful itinery drive west to Lancelin via Orange Springs, Sappers, KW and the Lancelin Rd to enjoy a swim or surf at Lancelin and dine at the Lancelin Inn.
