Three way meeting (31/01/13)
Thursday 31st January 2013 a meeting was held between me, my OSS and
my PE for the rst time sine he too! o"er as my on#site su$er"isor mid#
%o"ember 2012 to ma!e sure that e"eryone was aware of their
res$onsibility and what needs to be done for the mid$oint&
Discussed what needs to be done by midpoint
PE told OSS that by the mid#$oint he needed to do an obser"ed $ratie,
that ' will write a $lan for beforehand and gi"e to him so that he an
assess and (udge whether ' ha"e met my $lanned outomes& PE also
laried that he )OSS* has to ll out my e"aluation on the word "ersion of
the $laement doument, PE o+ered to send him a o$y of this doument
by email&
PE went through res$onsibilities as outlined by the P- and OSS said that
he had not loo!ed at this1 or the $laement doument as his $redeessor
had mis$lae the o$y that had been gi"en to him and also said he was
unfamiliar with the role as he had only beome my OSS .th January&
/isussed su$er"ision with OSS and obser"ed $ratie by PE whih were
sheduled for earlier in the wee! but had to be anelled due to /
ha"ing to lose due to unforeseen irumstane& OSS onrmed that as
we will be at the same loation net wee! )/ or -/* we an ha"e
our rst su$er"ision then, also one we are aware of when / will re#
o$en we an shedule and obser"ed $ratie&
Discussed organisational change
OSS mentioned that the organisation was urrently going through a big
restruturing leading to understa4ng and my old OSS being demoted and
therefore being unable to arry out ertain tas!s& 5e also e$ressed
feeling under $ressure due to not being fully ba! at wor! and

e$eriening eessi"e wor!load and o$erational demand& ' agreed that a
lot of hanges ha"e been ha$$ening and mentioned a boo! that ' had
read and the $ossible o$$ression inherent in organisational hange as
ser"ie users are ne"er onsulted and how with indi"iduals who ha"eommuniation $roblems, this an lead to frustration and beha"iours that
are labelled as hallenging& PE suggested that as a PS ' ould om$are
and ontrast the e+et of organisational hange on sta+ and ser"ie
users&
Discussed what the organisation does
OSS mentioned the nature of the organisation and the role of the ounil
as its sole share#holder also the role of s$ot $urhasing an OSS e$ressed
doubts that the
TP where ' am based has ade8uate learning o$$ortunities and
disussed the $ossibility of me s$ending some time in 9s$eial are:& PE
also said that ' am su$$osed to be fullling the role of wor! and training
su$$ort wor!er, OSS said that this had not been handed o"er to him and
he belie"ed that ' was doing some !ind of wor! e$eriene& OSS said that
there are additional things that ' should be doing and that ' should ha"e
had a more formal indution and a su$er"ision ontrat&
Discussed how to move forward
e agreed that ' should ontat OSS the net 6onday to see whether
/ is o$en and !ee$ PE u$dated so that we an reshedule obser"ed
$ratie& -lso ' should ontat uni"ersity and ma!e them aware of the
urrent situation with obser"ed $ratie in ase / is losed long#term&
Possible follow-up
1& OSS will assist me to gather information on how ser"ie users at 2 are
funded; ' will also researh s$ot funding inluding eligibility re8uirements and
guiding legislation&2& 6e and my OSS will ha"e a su$er"ision to disuss how what ' do on
$laement an be hanged&
