Clay CourtsClay courts are made up ofcompressed shale, stone orbrick. They are cheap and
easy to install but don't lastlong and require a great deal
of maintenance.
Chase Rubin loves to play onclay courts because the game
is relatively slower and theball bounces higher. These
courts also tend to favorbaseline players.

Hard CourtsHard courts are made from sand mixed into a paint coating.
They can range from faster to lower speeds of play dependingon the quantity and size of sand mixed in. From his
experience, Chase Rubin believes that hard courts tend toequalize the playing field in terms of athletic style.

Grass CourtsThese type of courts require a
lot of maintenance, so theyaren't as popular today asthey used to be. They are
constantly impacted by theweather conditions. Grass is
the fastest type of courtbecause of its low bounce
capacity, which is why theyare the least favorite courtfor Chase Rubin to play on.
The players with strongserves and volley skills
usually play better on thesetypes of courts.
