    Typical Losses per Manufacturer at Full Load

    To calculate total heat losses on the 1st

     floor,

    To calculate total heat losses in the Mezzanine,

    Loss associated with 1500 kVA load in Mezzanine = 20.5 kW loss

     

    Overall heat loss due to all loads is then given by the sum of the losses on the 1st

     Floor and Mezzanine

     

    The overall heat loss due to all loads (in kW) is equivalent to the heat transfer rate to or from air, q (in

    Btu/h).

     

    In order to determine the airflow rate, the Sensible Heating or Cooling equation is used:

     

    where q = heat transfer rate to or from air, Btu/h

    Q a = airflow rate, cfm

    Ρa = density of air, lb/ft3 

    Cp = specific heat of air, Btu/lb∙⁰F

    Δt = temperature increase or decrease of air, ⁰F 

    For standard air with a density of 0.075 lb/ft3 and a specific heat of 0.24 Btu/lb∙⁰F, the Sensible Heating
