The SG7000 uses IEC-standard B68-21 cabinet, with

dimensions 2100 mm × 600 mm × 800 mm (H × W × D).

The main control cabinet is configured with one BAM server,

CKII is the Clock board of the SG7000, inserted in the master service shelf

and occupying two slots. It provides level-2 standard synchronization clock

for the SG 7000 system, working in 1+1 backup mode.

The SG7000 is configured with only one pair of CKIIs.

Clock reference has 2M Bit/s (input from BITS Device), connect to BITS Port.

2M Hz (input 2M-A/B form EPII board ), connect to LINE Port.

SBPU is the Broadband Signaling Processor board of the SG7

000. As the basic signaling processor unit, it processes No. 7 s

ignaling and SIGTRAN protocol. Two SLPUs are pinched on t

his board.

SBPU provide the TDM Singnaling Interface process, it can pro

cess 64kbps or 2Mbps Link.

It is flashing fast (5 times /second) when SLPU is not configured at background. It is off when the board is configured and link is configured. When the SLPU is configured, link is configured but the link is not located, it is flashing slowly (1 time/second). When the board is configured, link is configured and link is located, it is off.

It is the universal No. 7 signaling processing board (pinch board

of SBPU), and each SLPU can process 16 * 64K signaling links or

can process one 2M high-speed signaling links.

There are 2 SLPU in one SBPU Board at most. So that there

are 32*64K signaling links or can process 2*2M high-speed

signaling links totally.

During the board is inserting in the subrack, the blue indicator is on, indicating that the board contacts the backplane. Here, the handle on the front panel can be used to insert the board completely into the backplane. ALUI is the monitoring board of the SG7000, in slots 16 of the service processing shelf. It indicates the system status and reports the Alarm information from other sources.

It monitors the back board fault and in-position statuses. It is connected with the equipment management board through differential serial

interface, reports the collected information, and receives commands from equipment management board for controlling indicators.

It detects the shelf temperature and sends the data to equipment management board through differential serial interface.

It collects fault detection signals and in-position signals from three power modules, synthesizes them logically, and reports them to the equipment management board as the power system working status.

When the temperature sensor does not work normally, it reports error message, and the board FAIL indicator is on at the same time.

As the E1 interface board of the SG7000, the EPII provides the 8-por

t E1 interface functions between the SBPU boards in service proces

sing shelf and external system. It also supports the TDM exchange b

etween all the timeslots in the shelf and any timeslot of the eight 2M

HWs on this board.

New version board is SEPU board ,provides 16-port E1/T1 interface.

EPII must have the same slot number with SBPU, but SEPU support

cross connection feature.

S2 (receiving) and S3 (transmitting): Connecting mode selection switches For 75 Ohm coaxial trunk cable, the unbalanced connection mode with

The HBIU is the Back Interface Board of the system board HSYS.

It performs the RS485 level conversion for the asynchronous serial

port signal of the system board, and implements two physical

interfaces for this asynchronous serial port.

It identifies the service shelf numbers by means of S3 DIP switches.

It provides the physical interface for the back board out-leading

Ethernet interface of the system board.

SCBU FunctionsSCBU Functions

The SCBU is the back board of HCOM. It works with the HCOM

to cascade the service processing shelves of the SG7000.

It provides two external bi-directional 100 Mbps Ethernet paths to

connect two core LAN Switches in the SG7000 system. It assists

the data switching between shelves, and sends the link data on

the high-speed bus to be forwarded to other shelves to the LAN

switches through network interfaces, which are then sent to the

other service processing shelves to implement the mutual

communication between shelves. It provides one external E1 channel and provides one data channel for the

system test.

The CKII board has three clock sources: BITS clock, E1 clock and CKII board loca

l crystal oscillator.

In the master clock shelf, the TDM switching bus abstracts two groups of clocks C

TA and CTB from the active and standby CKIIs.

In the master clock shelf, the EPIIs (PM and SM) abstracts clocks from CKII.

The TDM switching bus of every shelf abstracts two groups of clocks CTA and CT

B from the PM and SM.

All EPIIs in the clock shelves abstract clocks from the TDM switching bus in the lo

cal shelf. The CTA has a higher priority and the CTB has a lower one.

The CKII board local crystal oscillator can provide 2-level clocks, so that the SG cl

ock can be locked externally.

The subsystem is composed of ALUI and power monitoring board. The ALUI monitors the working statuses of the unit shelf, including the inner-

shelf ambient temperature, power status, and the working status of the back

boards from HSYS receiving I/O boards (such as SBPU and HCOM). And it

displays the statuses on the front indicators.

The power monitoring board of the power distributor box monitors the workin

g status of the power distributor box. It is connected with the HBIU of the HS

YS’s back board through serial interface, collecting the working statuses of t

he power distributor box and reporting to the HSYS.

Background Management and Maintenance SubsystemBackground Management and Maintenance Subsystem

It is composed of background administration module (BAM), charging server

(BAU), management and maintenance workstation and remote management

and maintenance interface equipment.

System loading The HSYS implements loading from BAM in the FTP mode through network card

1 and network card 2. The SBPU/SBPI implements loading through the HSYS of

local shelf. The SLPU programs and data are loaded through the SBPU.

Equipment management During the initialization, it implements the active/standby arbitration for SBPU,

HSYS, HSCU and CKII and the active/standby switchover function.

message to PSTN/PLM or broadband IP network according to the destination signaling

point information in the message. If the message will be forwarded to PSTN/PLMN, the narrowband E1/T1 interface unit implements the f

orwarding function, which is like the function of narrowband STP (signaling transition point).

If the message will be forwarded to broadband IP network, the signaling processing unit packets/unpac

kets the messages. After the IP distribution by the LAN drive and IP distributor unit, the messages arriv

e at the IP network through the IP interface unit.

The flow is the converse case for the signaling processing from IP network to traditional narrowb

and network.
