If you're hiring and it’s because of growth, smile big…but there are no guarantees if you don’t have a system to sustain success. It’s going to get even better following guidelines in the slides below.

We know we can't keep everybody but are we keeping the right ones?

If ratings are on a scale a one to ten, with sevens and eights coming in while twos and threes are going out, rejoice because you're getting the people you need and probably losing the people you need to lose.

1. Get a Consensus from Your Top performers on who and what skills are Lacking and How to Match These Against Your GoalsThis gives you a clear snapshot of who you are looking for

2. Select People Using Valid Assessment Tools and then combine the results with statistics from HR and training based on past hiring/training events.Plain old interviews or mere referrals are inadequate. Also get your Hiring Manager educated enough on using proven tools.

3. Get a plan to grow/develop New Hires. Your development plan should be in place from hiring to succession because if they can’t see they are growing a future, they won’t have a future.

Are you tapping or zapping those you lead?

1. HAS YOUR TEAM GOT FEW, CLEAR FINISH LINES?

Does Your Team Have a Few Well Defined Goals that any team Member could recite if woken up from their sleep?

2. DOES YOUR TEAM HAVE HIGH OR LOW TRUST WITHIN?

What is the atmosphere like? If you have rebelling, quitting, silent disagreement or mere willing compliance, trust is missing.

3. ANY SUCCESS IN YOUR SYSTEMS?

Do you make things happen or do you rely on systems that unleash the team?

4. ENGAGEMENT

Can you truly say that your team members are engaged and have adopted the team’s goals as their own?
