What is it like to be a nurse?

According to R.N. Tracey VitaleNursing in the 21st Century is mainly driven by healthcare which involves efficiency and time management skills. It is very important to have skills with technology, because all the aspects including charts and pharmacy dispensary is now completed with a machine.

The skills that nursing requires in caring for patients is the same that it always has been but education and improvements in medicine have changed the nursing world.Nursing school is not the end of the education process, a nurse has to continually educate themselves via classrooms or research projects so they do not fall behind with the constant innovations.

ResponsibilityNurses must know how to resolve conflicts in a way that ensures the patients safety.They must know how to take immediate action during emergency and non-emergency situations.Account for all legal rights and privacy protection laws during each case.

IntellectNurses must be have good communication not only with their patients but also the staff they work with.It is very important for nurses to be alert and observant of what is going on around them at all times.During many emergency care situations a nurse must know how to take charge if a doctor is not present.

FlexibilityA nurse has new cases, patients, and patient needs each day they show up to work.They are responsible for staying up to date on new technology and trends that are taking place.

Nurses are on a constant rotation of tending to patients during their shift and also furthering their knowledge in every aspect of the field.

Nurses have an immense amount of physical and mental hardships to tend to each day.They not only care for the patients, but also comfort the distressed family and friends that occupy the room.Compassion
