This instruction manual describes the basic operations of the Ultimaker ex-tended 3 print.
System consists of :
• Ultimaker extended 3 : Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM)
• Build Volume : 215 x 215 x 300mm
• Nozzle diameter : two types of print cores
— Print core AA 0.4mm— Print core BB 0,4mm (for support material PVA)
• Filament diameter: 2,85mm
• Layer Resolution: 200 to 20um
• Materials: PLA, ABS, PVA, Flexible, TPU 95A, Glass Bend

Chapter 1
Start-up
• Turn on the printer with the power switch at the back.
• Make sure that the glass plate is completely clean and free of any materielsand fingerprints.If not, clean the glass plate. Open the two build plate clamps at the front to
secure the glass plate 2 . And then slide the glass plate onto the build plate

• Back the glass plate onto the build plate 1 . Close the two build plate
clamps at the front to the glass plate 2 .
• Make sure you have enough materials on the spool holder. If not, You needto load materials into the printer, see below.

Chapter 2
Material
2.1 Unload the material
• Go to the menu ”MATERIAL/PRINTCORE” by rotating and then push-
ing the button 1 at the front side of the 3D print.
1 : Rotate button to select the menu - 2 : Push button to confirm
• Select ”Material 1” if you change the spool 1 and select ”Material 2” tochange the spool 2.

• Go to the menu ”Change” or ”unload” (when you don’t wish to replace thespool).
• Wait for the print 1 or print 2 core to head up 1 and that the material
remove from the print 2 .

• Remove the material from the feeder holder 2 .

If you cannot remove the material from the feeder 1 . Push the feeder knob
though up 2 and at the same time, pull the material 3 .

• Remove the material from the spool holder 1 .
* For Spool 1 :
Pull the spool holder 2
.1 : spool material 1 - 2 : spool holder
* For Spool 2 :
Pull the spool holder 1 and then slide the spool material 2 .

.1 : Spool material 1 - 2 : Spool material 2 - 3 : Spool holder.
• Select the ”confirm” option on the display panel when you have removedthe material spool from the spool holder.

2.2 Load/Change the material
• First, choose your material spool (PLA, ABS, PLA...) on the shelf abovethe 3D print.See below, the combinations if you wish use the two materials.

Open the print head fan bracket and make sure type of the print cores is com-
patible with the material that you want use. 1 .
Begin to put the material 2 on the spool holder. If you need to change the printcore, see the Ultimaker print core manual.

2.2.1 Material 2
• Go to the menu ”MATERIAL/PRINTCORE” by rotating and then push-
ing the button 1 at the front side of the 3D print.
1 : Rotate button to select the menu - 2 : Push button to confirm
• Select the ”Material 2” and then ”Change”. Select ”Load” when the spoolmaterial is not installed before.
1 : Menu - 2 : Load option - 2 : Change option.
The print core 2 BB 0,4mm is only for PVA material.
• Place the spool material 2 on the spool holder.

Make sure that the spool material is in clockwise direction.

• Check the shape of the tip of the material. If it doesn’t look good, cut the tipof the material.

• Insert and push the end of the material 2 into the feeder 2. Push the feeder
knob through up 2 and at the same time, pull the material 1 .
.1 : Feeder enter - 2 : Feeder knob.
• Confirm by pushing the button at the front side of the 3D print when youhave inserted the materiel.

• When using Ultimaker material, Wait until the Ultimaker print detects thematerial and then select ”confirm”.

• When using non-Ultimaker material, material is not automatically de-tected. Rotate the button to select the material ”select Material” on the drop-list. Confirm by pushing the button.

• Wait for the print to load the material into the print core.

• Wait for the print to head up the print core.

• Confirm by pushing the button 2 when you can see the new material ex-
trudes front the print core 3 .

• Wait a moment for the print core 2 to cool down.

2.2.2 Material 1
• Go to the menu ”MATERIAL/PRINTCORE” by rotating and then push-
ing the button 1 at the front side of the 3D print.

• Select the ”Material 1” and then ”Change”. Select ”Load” when the spoolmaterials is not installed before.

• Remove the spool guide holder from spool holder towards you.

• Place the material spool on the guide holder. Make sure that the spoolmaterial in counter-clockwise direction.

• Place the material through the hole in the spool guide holder.
• Place the material guide on the spool behind the materiel 2.
.1 : Spool holder- 2 : Material 1.
• Check the shape of the tip of the material. If it doesn’t look good, cut the tipof the material.

Chapter 3
Build plate
Make sure that the glass plate is completely clean and free of any materialsand fingerprints. If not, clean the glass plate. Open the two build plate clamps
at the front to secure the glass plate 2 . And then slide the glass plate onto
the build plate 4 .
• Back the glass plate onto the build plate 1 . Close the two build plate
clamps at the front to the glass plate 2 .

Chapter 4
Start printing
• Download the Cura software : https://ultimaker.com/en/products/
ultimaker-cura-software
• Open the Cura software• Select the Ultimaker Extended 3 print.
• Load a 3D model.
• Select the desired print profile and adjust print settings.

• Select the right print core for each material.
1 : Print core 1 - 2 : Print core 2 - 3 : Print core selection - 4 : Material
selection - 5 : Profile settings - 6 : Infill density - 7 : Generte support - 8 :
Plateform adhesion - 9 : Custom setting - 10 : Save model.
• Connect the print to network by selecting the ”connect” button 1 in the
print monitor bar.
• Select the ”refresh” button 2 : .• Select the ”astou print” in the printer list and then close the window.

Chapter 5
Shutdown
• Wait a moment for the build plate is cold down and then remove your modelwith a spatule to the build plate.
• The last user have to remove all spools from the 3D print and package thespools. See above how unload spools.
• Shutdown the print 3D.
