I am theproud owner of a travel mugthat says ‘Crazy Cat Lady’ onit and I will show anyonearound me (willing or unwill-ing) photos of my cat, Theb,which I keep on my cellphone. And as for thesweaters, I always wear over-the-top, colorful, or crazyclothes that most people Iknow describe as ‘old ladysweaters’. Yes, cats andsweaters are two of my

favorite things.So imagine the enjoyment I

felt when I opened up my giftfrom Alex and saw that it wasa cat sweater! That’s right, agrey crew-neck sweater witha picture of a cat wearingsunglasses on it. And writtenon the sweater were thewords ‘Cattitude, deal with it’.A cat sweater with a pun onit? I couldn’t have been hap-pier! I gave Alex a huge hug,threw the sweater on over theother sweater I had alreadybeen wearing, and couldn’tstop smiling.

“How did you think ofsomething so perfect?” Iasked him, thinking abouthow lucky I was to havefound someone who knewme so well, and how happy Iwas to be with someone sosweet.

The Village St. Café has opened in the heart of Lisbon.They are located at 12 Village Street and occupy a build-ing that comes with lots of history. It was once the town’slibrary, an accountant’s office, a karate studio, and even ameeting hall for the Boy Scout back in the 50’s.

The café is a cozy place that seats 20 people in thedining room and another eight around the bar surround-ing an open kitchen. Upon entering, you can enjoy a smallquiet area with two comfy chairs where you can sit andsip on a cup of Green Mountain Coffee, with books andmagazines for all ages.

Owner, Christine Amaya, who also has owned Miller’sVariety in Lisbon Falls for over five years, knew thiswould be not only a great opportunity, but also great forthe Lisbon community.

Chris shared with UAD, “ My family was raised just afew feet from where the café is. I love meeting the peoplewho knew my grandparents or went to school with mymother and uncles.” It serves as a great place for peopleto meet up with old friends and share stories of their lifein Lisbon.

The café is currently open Monday through Saturdayfrom 6am to 2pm. They serve a variety of homemadefoods, including soups, corn beef hash and muffins.There are no fried foods on the menu.

I’m talking about fast passionatecompetition where every player on the court hasmore heart than their chest can contain. I’m talkingbasketball that would keep Jay Mitchell and I gluedto the TV for hours on end despite countless at-tempts from Bret and Bitzy to distract us. Not eventhe perfectly portioned snacks provided by Mrs.Mitchell, which always had the optimum amount ofnutrition growing boys need without an overindul-gence of preservatives.
