Architecture is the language of perception adaptation and function, found in an environment where datum and stratum, regulate sensation.
Intent
We see our design before its realiza on is seen by anyone else. We a required to speak about an idea that started in someone else’s mind and will end up under there possession. So to be a designer we must understand what is important to the client. We use common language and imagery to develop con nuity throughout our processes of design. These few datum and overall stratum are what allow us to develop connect and ul mately design the space that will adhere to the clients perceived func on.

La MicrocitéLocation: Paris, France Program: Multi Model Train Station Client: SEMAPA Class: Fundamentals III Professor Woods
While studying abroad in Lacoste, Aix en Provence, France, I par cipated in a collabora ve studio with two third year architecture students (Markia Maye; Sarah Waller,) and interior design student (Becky Myers.) Our job was to create a mul model train sta on for a new urban development program in the 13 Arrondissement. SEMAPA has been in charge of this project since the 1970’s. We worked with to develop a sta on that could bring meaning to an up and coming young neighborhood of Paris.

Hot Springs MonasteryLocation: Hot Springs, NC Program: Cistercian Monastery Class: Studio I Professor Singeisen
The human condi on has fundamental impact on designing architecture. Shapes and sizes vary but outcomes are similar. Emo on can be found in buildings. Regula on can be found in building. Comfort can be found in buildings. In this design I looked into the me barrier one crosses when living the lifestyle of a Cistercian monk. Embellishing on the idea of mul ple courtyards and centralizing the core of study.

Ci es are growing in size, but one things remains iconic in a ci es culture, economy ,and produc on, all cites need to have at least one market place. This becomes the mel ng pot of a city where locals can trade produce and adver se business. This studio was very site based, and we used the historic city of Savannah to infl uence our design, and urban plan.

Robotics FacilityLocation: Brooklyn, NY Program: Research and Learning Center Client: Clinton Hill Robotics Society Class: Studio III Professor Elnahs
Our world converges on tradi ons and technology. This compe on was to design a school and research facility where the student and public members could learn built and test new robots through all phases of design. We also needed to include a large lecture room for guest speakers. Clinton Hill Brooklyn has a very standard set of building type usually consis ng of four story brownstone building. Although recent tradi on have allowed for newer more modern and taller buildings to be built.

AIA of Cincinna out on this compe on to design a live work industrial ar st center at the top of the Brewers District on the Over the Rhein part of Cincinna . The Site consisted of a steep slope with and old factory building at the base. It was important to look at the history and fabric of the tradi onal Italianate district while also trying to adept in the new system of beau fi ca on that the city is trying to establish in this gentrifi ed area of town. Reuse of the building and extension of the city grid where key ideas to the design.
