ASSEMBLING YOURCX, DX & LX UNISTAR:

1. Determine the front, back,right and left of the unicycle andthe wheel. Set the wheel intothe bearing cradles. Place thebearing caps [A] in place andtighten the bolts to 45 inchpounds [B]. Do not over tighten[C]. Spin the wheel and checkthe spokes. Adjust if needed.

2. Apply a small amount ofgrease to the pedal threads.Thread the pedals into their cor-responding crank arms [D1] =L-pedal to L-crank. [D2] = R-pedal to R-crank. Tighten se-curely w/ a 15mm wrench. Thisis also a good time to check thecrank arms and tighten themif necessary.

3. Slide seatclamp on top of fork[F]. Apply a thin film of greaseto the seatpost and insert it intothe fork [G]. Using the 5mmallen wrench, tighten theseatpost clamp so that theseatpost does not twist in thefork [H]. Also check that thebolts holding the seat onto thepost are secure, as well as thebolts on the handle.

4. Make sure the tire bead isseated evenly on the rim.Inflate the tire to the recom-mended pressure that is printedon the sidewall of the tire.

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE ASSEMBLY: Unicycles have a “front”, “back”,“left” and “right”. It is important to know this to en-sure that the saddle and pedals are installed correctly.The fork is slotted where the seat post is inserted.This slot is on the “back”. The UNISTAR decal on thetube is on the “front.”Align the saddle so that the narrow end or the handle(depending on the model) is pointed forwards. Makesure the seat post is tight in the fork, as this iscrucial in controlling and steering your unicycle.

Cranks and pedals are markedleft and right; with a “L” and “R” stamped in to them.Make sure the cranks are on the appropriate sides.The pedals can only be installed in their respective

cranks arms. Theright pedal tightensclockwise and the leftpedal tightenscounter-clockwise.The pedals must be tight in the cranks! Thishelps to prevent the pedals from looseningduring riding.

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE RIDING: Always wear ahelmet when riding your unicycle. We also recommendknee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards, especially ifyou are new to unicycle riding.

Make sure all parts are tight and adjusted properly andthat the tire is inflated to the recommended pressure. NEVERride any unicycle if any parts seem loose, cracked, broken or out ofadjustment. And when riding, please avoid traffic and busy areas.

Never ride beyond your ability. Take responsibility for your actions. Youare encouraged to ask your local bicycle retailer about unicycling. Thereare also a number of unicycle-related resources available on the Internet,including clubs and instructional materials.

ASSEMBLING YOUR TX UNISTAR:1. Determine the front, back,right and left of the unicycle.(**The sprocket is on the right.)2. Take the axle nuts off thewheel and install the Chain Ad-justers [A]. Then thread the axlebolts back on.3. Slide the wheel into the dropouts loosely [B] and set Chainadjusters on to fork dropouts [C].Do not fully tighten yet.4. Place the chain around bothsprockets.5. Now, tighten up the chain ad-justers on each side using the10mm wrench. Be sure to keepthe wheel centered inside fork.NOTE: Check chain tension.Chain may deflect 1/2” whensqueezed firmly.7. Now, firmly tighten axle nuts.8. Apply a small amount of greaseto the pedal threads. Thread thepedals into their correspondingcrank arms [D-1=L-pedal toL-crank. D-2=R-pedal to R-crank]. Tighten securely w/ a15mm wrench.9. Slide QR seatclamp on top offork [K]. Apply a thin film ofgrease to the seatpost and insertseatpost/saddle into the fork [G].Tighten the seatpost clamp withyour hand so that the seatpostdoes not twist in the fork, andlock-in.10. Make sure the tire bead isseated evenly on the rim. Inflatethe tire to the recommendedpressure that is printed on thesidewall of the tire.

TOOLS: You will need the sametools listed on the previous pageto assemble your Unistar TX.

A] Attach chainadjusters to axle.

B] Place wheel infork slots loosely.

C] Set ChainAdjusters in todropouts, like so.

E] Put chain on.

I] Tighten chainadjusters to pullchain tight. Besure to keep wheelcentered (below).

J] Now tightenaxle nuts. Then,attach correctpedals on tocorrect cranksarms.** Read directions forspecifics.

K] Slide on seatclamp, insert seatpost and tighten.
