UNISYSTEM ® PLUS, evolved from the UNISYSTEM ® system, distinguishes itself in its use of special Teflon dowels that allow for a quicker laying of the top profile and thus its possible removal for reorganization and/or maintenance of the floor. Both systems feature: simplicity in their laying out, limited thickness of the top profile, dimensional stability, use for floorings of thicknesses between 6.5 to 22.6mm (UNISYSTEM ® PLUS) and from 6.5 to 15mm (UNISYSTEM ® ), available in a variety of decors (4 anodized finishes, 28 wooden decors, 8 real wood decors). High shine aluminum Al-Mg-Si Alloy heat treated to T6 temper (6463 T6) These profiles are made by extrusion and subsequently treated and mechanically worked.They guarantee a discernible resistance to chemical and atmospheric agents. Wet cement and its derivatives produce alkaline substances that, when left to act on the surface, can corrode metal (formation of aluminum hydroxide). For this reason, the visual surface of the profile must be cleaned thoroughly of cements, adhesives and caulking or stopping material. Do not use profiles in high shine aluminum on floors. Coated aluminum - Alcrom ® Plus Al-Mg-Si Alloy heat treated to T6 temper (6060 T6) These profiles are made by extrusion in natural alloy. The coating is obtained through the use of an Alcrom ® Plus film covering, which is resistant to wear and tear and which replicates the diverse tonalities and/or finishes of wood. Aluminum coated with shears of Real Wood Al-Mg-Si Alloy heat treated to T6 temper (6060 T6) These profiles are made by extrusion in natural alloy. Profiles for wooden and laminate floors

Unisystem® Plus - Unisystem®

Application

UNISYSTEM® PLUS and UNISYSTEM® are two professional systems for laying floating wood and laminated floors, which also permits its necessaryexpansion.

Both systems comprise a base profile in natural aluminum and a top having various functions:

cover trims for equal levels;• profiles for different levels, permitting thickness compensation between flooring that is not flush;• terminal profiles, which delimit flooring in parquet or laminates;• perimeter profiles, used to connect flooring to wall coverings;• step nosing profiles for stairs.•

UNISYSTEM® PLUS, evolved from the UNISYSTEM® system, distinguishes itself in its use of special Teflon dowels that allow for a quicker laying ofthe top profile and thus its possible removal for reorganization and/or maintenance of the floor.

Both systems feature: simplicity in their laying out, limited thickness of the top profile, dimensional stability, use for floorings of thicknesses between 6.5to 22.6mm (UNISYSTEM® PLUS) and from 6.5 to 15mm (UNISYSTEM®), available in a variety of decors (4 anodized finishes, 28 wooden decors, 8real wood decors).

For both systems the "base" profiles are fixed to the foundation through the use of screws and dowels or with the proper adhesive (such as PP/86).

Materials

coated following a natural process of oxidation, when applied or even simply exposed to light, become darker. Thus it is recommended to leave theprofiles in their packaging until ready to use.

General note on metalsAluminium is not resistant to all chemical compounds and it would thus be necessary to keep it away from particularly aggressive products such ashydrochloric acid (HCl) and phosphoric acid (H3PO4)

Products that can be used for cleaning stones, ceramics and gres, namely muriatic acid, ammonia, bleach or sodium hypochlorite damage the surfacefinish of the metal and may cause intense corrosive reactions. Therefore, it is necessary to always remove, and as fast and gently as possible, residuesof cement, adhesives and materials for caulking and stopping from the surface of profiles.

Laying

Laying instructions for the Unisystem® Plus systemTake the profiles out of the packaging.Check that the thickness of the covering or flooring to be laid corresponds with the height of the selected profile (see the label).Remove, wherever present, the protection (protective and/or thermo-shrink film) of the profile’s finish.Measure and cut the base profile to the required length with the proper tools.

The base profile can be laid to the floor by:

Use of the adequate adhesive (such as PP/86); in this case, lay the profile, leaving sufficient space to insert the flooring to be laid and for itsexpansion (about 10mm); after making sure that the laying surface for the base is perfectly clean, press the profile so that the previouslyapplied adhesive comes out from the perforations of the tabs.

Use of screws and dowels; in which case: place the base profile, already cut to measure, in the correct position and, with indelible ink, markthe exact position of the holes of the base profile where drilling is necessary.Remove the base profile and drill into the floor in the exact positions marked in the previous step, careful to verify the exact dimensions of thedowels to be used.Clean the laying are completely and insert the dowels into the holes in the floor; reposition the profile into the correct position, mindful of theexpansion of the floor to be laid (about 10mm), and fix it to the floor with adequate screws.Measure and cut the top profile to the necessary length.Apply the Teflon dowels to the guide underneath the top profile every 15 - 20cm.Position the corresponding top profile on the base profile (already fixed to the floor); carefully using a hammer (placing a wooden wedgebetween the top profile and the hammer to prevent damage), until it is fully inserted into the base profile.

Care and maintenance

AluminumThese need no particular maintenance and are easily cared for with colorless alcohol diluted in water or with normal detergents, though not acid-basedproducts (e.g. hydrochloric or hydrofluoric acid).For cleaning tasks, a wide array of detergents coming in a variety of commercial brands and of numerous manufacturers are generally used.

In general, there are three product types:

Alkaline type• Neutral type• Acid type•

For cleaning, neutral detergent diluted in water and a rinsing agent of solely water is recommended, using a sponge and/or non-abrasive cloth toprevent scratches and/or damage to the anodization, shine or varnish.

During cleaning, the following should be kept in mind:

Do not use acid or alkaline detergents, since they can damage aluminum;• Do not use abrasive products and/or materials;• Do not use organic solvents on varnished surfaces;• Do not use detergents with unknown chemical compositions;• Do not apply detergents directly to the surface to be cleaned;• Surfaces must be relatively “cold” when cleaning (Max. Temp = 30ºC) and not exposed directly to sunlight;• Detergents used for cleaning must be in turn “cold” (Max. Temp = 30ºC) and spray devices must not be used.•

In any case, the last phase of cleaning is always an adequate rinsing with water on the part that has been treated, followed immediately by drying witha soft cloth or rag. Maintenance with polishing products or similar is unnecessary.

Effect a quick and accurate cleaning of the profile, according to the indications on the product’s packaging, in order to prevent possible cementdeposits, caulking material or similar products that may end up attacking the surface layers.Aluminum coated - Alcrom® PlusThis finish needs no special maintenance, since it is easily cleaned with alcohol diluted in water or with normal detergent that is not acid or alkalinebased, also diluted in water; rinsing thoroughly at the end with water only.Use a non-abrasive sponge or cloth to prevent scratches on the surface.Aluminum coated with shears of Real WoodThe film used for the coating of this profile is for all effects wood and therefore it should be cared for as such.In order to slow down the process of color variation of the wood over time, it is recommended to avoid direct exposure to sunlight.Cleaning can be carried out with normal detergents for parquet in stores, using a soft cloth, preferably in suede and well wrung.Avoid the use of any detergent that contains abrasive particles, which could scratch the surface of the profile.The surface should be wiped down and dried immediately after cleaning.

Fire Control Measures

In case of fire, extinguish with fire-fighting chemical products, dry sand or solid fire-extinguishing agents.

These profiles must be handled with care, taking the necessary steps to use suitable gloves to prevent wounds such as cuts to the hand.
