TRENDS: What is a trend? What trends affect your daily life?

Trends – big and small, short-term and long-term – will affect your career. An entrepreneur may find ways of making money by taking advantage of a North American trend like watching Japanese animation. You may lose your job in the textile industry because of a trend toward greater automation. There may be a greater demand for health care workers because of demographic trend of a growing elderly population.  

Being aware of trends is a way of increasing the information you need to make good decisions about your future
