HOB PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE JIM CRAIG
Welcome to Laura Smith-Weyl on to the
Home Owner’s Board.
Laura served a few
years ago as Secre-
tary on the Board and
will replace Peter Cun-
ningham as Secretary
when Peter heads
north in early May. Peter will remain
on the Board as a director. Laura
replaces Jack Oberlin who resigned after serving
many years on the Board.
Many topics were discussed at the last HOB meeting
on March 24. The minutes are posted on the bulletin
Board and on our Mainlands website
www.mainlands.org/hob%20mins.htm
On Saturday and Sunday, March 12th and 13th, Unit 3
presented a Variety Show entitled “You’re In The Army
Now.” The show was written, produced and directed by
Maggie Ploesser (pictured). The show was sold out both
nights and through the magnanimous generosity of our
residents, raised $5110 for the benefit of the Wounded
Warriors Abilities Ranch. Michael Delancey (pictured),
a Pinellas Park resident and a Wounded Warrior, found-
ed the Ranch in 2013. The City of Pinellas Park donat-
ed a 10-acre site for the Ranch at 5200 62nd Avenue N
and has allocated funds to support construction. The
show was a tremendous hit with our audiences. Over
37 residents participated in the Show...clearly a produc-
tion that we can all be proud of.
If you missed the show or want to see it again on Thursday, April 7, at 7pm there will be a free showing of the Variety Show video in the Unit 3
Clubhouse.
