• The more diverse an ecosystem is, the more stable it is.

• Organism: a living thing• Example: bacteria, fish, frog, deer, tree,

grasshopper, worm (all living things)

What is an organism?

• Species: a group of organisms that can produce offspring together.• Example: mule deer, mountain lion, red

fox

• Population: group of organisms of the same species.• Example: a herd of mule deer.

• Ecosystem: a community of different organisms together with their environment.• Example: Deer, squirrels, birds, bugs in

a forest full of trees and a lake.

different from a desert biome.
