Immunizations are required to attend school in the United States.

The School Nurse, Social Worker, Psychologist, or Counselor can give you a list of doctors and dentists in your area as well as inexpensive insurance for children.

A physical examination is required before participation in any school sports activity (before 6th Grade).

Students may take medicine at school. Parents MUST take the medicine and

note (or doctor’s note) to the office. Students may NOT bring medicine to

school themselves. Only the School Nurse can give the

medicine to the student (including cough drops and Aspirin.)

Students must have a pass to see the Nurse.

Every kindergartner or new student to Prince William County Schools is screened for hearing and vision.

Screenings are given in grades: K, 3, 7, 10

Parents or teachers may request hearing or vision screenings at any time.

An eye exam is not the same as a prescription.
