Grade 2 IS Study Sheet Changes in Matter
Examples of matter: your chair is a solid. The water you drink is a liquid. The air you breathe is a gas.
All matter has properties. Properties are what make matter appear and feel different. In ELA class, we call them adjectives, but in I.S. class, we will call them properties!
Like you learned in unit 7, temperature can affect from what we wear to what we can eat. Temperature also causes matter to change from solids to liquids to gases; the most common being water. Heat can cause water to evaporate into a gas. Then cold condenses it back to a liquid. Then when it gets too cold, it falls as snow!
