  本单元主要的教学内容是“介绍英美人的姓名”。除了要复习巩固初一学过的经常性行为和正在发生的行为以外,还要学习一些新的词汇和日常用语。由 the difference between Chinese and English names 引出 be short for和 call sb. / sth. for short 两个短语,学习英国人名的顺序以及与称呼的搭配使用、简称的由来。本单元突出了文化背景学习的特点,加深理解了 both 与 all 、 wish 与 hope 、 excuse与 sorry 的用法区别。 Lesson4 主要学习元音音素 [a:][au] ,逐渐能按照 26 个字母及有关字母组合的拼读规则来朗读、拼写和记忆单词。

关于英国人名字的教学分析

1. What’s in a name?   

1 .问一个学生: What’s your name? 然后教师说 His/Her full name is … ,并且把名字板书出来。然后给出一个已学过的英文名字: Jim ,告诉学生 Jim’s full name is James Allan Green ,借此解释 full name和 given name 的意思。举出别的例子。

   2 .以图解的形式讲解 English names: a first name, a middle name and a family name 的意义。

2. Why don’t

   Why don't you talk about names? 你为什么不谈论一下名字呢?

  这是一个否定的特殊疑问句,表示劝说或建议,这个句子也可用“ Why not + 动词原词?”

来表达同样的意思。如本句可改为: Why not talk about names?

What /How about …? 这一句型也表示建议可与上述句型转换。不过后面若跟动词时,

必须用 -ing 形式。如:

   Why don't you go to ask the teacher? = What about going to ask the teacher?

3. Teachers‘ Day 意为“教师节”,是由普通名词构成的专有名词,让学生朗读: Women’s Day 妇女节

并体会出每个单词的第一个字母都要大写。在表示节日的专有名词前一般不需要冠词 the. 如:

4. 表示祝福时除某些表达方式外,还有两种形式:

   Best wishes to sb. (for …); wish sb. +宾语补足语。如:

   Best wishes to you for Teachers' Day.

  I wish you a happy New Year.

5. matter

   It doesn't matter this time. 这次没有关系。

   matter 在这里作动词,意为“要紧”。如:

   It matters very little. 不要紧,丝毫没关系。

   It doesn't matter who will do it.谁干这事都无关紧要。

   matter 同时也可作名词,意为“事情,问题”。如:

  ― I can't carry the heavy box. ――我搬不动这个重箱子。

  ― No matter. Let me help you. ――没关系。我帮你。

   What's the matter with you? 你怎么了?

6. call 用作动词时有如下意义:

   1 .叫、称呼、叫做。例如:

   We call him Old Ma .我们称他老马。

   2 .喊叫,召唤。例如:

   Will you call me a taxi? 请你给我叫辆出租车好吗?

   Please call a doctor请去叫个医生来。

   3 .打电话给……。例如:

   Call me (up) this afternoon. 今天下午打电话给我。

7. call 构成的短语

  ( 1 ) call back再打电话给、叫……回来、收回(意见)。例如:

   He isn't here right now. Please call him back later. 他现在不在,请过会儿再给他打电话来吧。

  ( 2 ) call for邀约、要求、需要。例如:

   This is what the people call for .这就是人民的需要。

  ( 3 ) call in请求、叫……进来、召集。例如:

   Why not call a doctor in?为何不请医生呢?

  ( 4 ) call on sb .拜访。看望。例如:

   My father is calling on my English teacher. 我父亲正在拜访我的英语老师。

8. Welcome

  在英语中, welcome 的意思是“欢迎”,它可用作多种词性。

   l . welcome 用作及物动词,一般带有宾语。如:

   Welcome you to my home .欢迎你到我家来。

   2 . welcome 用作名词,可作为可数名词。如:

   They give us a warm welcome .他们给予我们热烈欢迎。

   Don't give Tom a cold welcome .不要不欢迎汤姆。

3 . welcome 可用作形容词,在句中作定语或表语。例如:

   Miss Green is a welcome teacher to us .格林小姐是受我们欢迎的老师。

   You are not welcome to use my car .你不可以借用我的车。

   4 . welcome 还可用作感叹词,表示一种亲切的招呼,后面接说话人所在地的副词或介词 to 短语,意思是欢迎对方来到某地。如:

   Welcome (back) home! 欢迎回家!

9. 贺卡的写法

写贺卡应注意三点:

  ( 1 )受贺人的称呼:一般写在卡片左上方。称呼前可用可不用“ to” 。

( 2 )贺词:通常写一些简短的表示感谢和良好祝愿的话。

  ( 3 )祝贺人的签名:写在贺卡的右下方。姓名前可加也可不加 from 。
