2013: LABEX ENTREPRENDRE IS GROWING

Entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainability
In 2013, the projects of Labex Entreprendre were closely aligned with public policy goals to encourage business growth and greater competi ti veness. Our second program for investi ng in the future was thus ti tled: “Strengthening competi ti veness to ensure job creati on and sustainable economic growth”.
Labex’s projects were backed by an ambiti ous recruitment policy. Our scienti fi c producti on intensifi ed, with more than 60 arti cles published and more than 150 papers pre-sented at internati onal conferences. This year also saw the fi rst appearance of “Labex Entreprendre Publicati ons”, a newslett er desti ned to reach a broad range of economic actors.
On May 24, we hosted a daylong conference on “Business growth and exiti ng the crisis”, which provided the oppor-tunity to present the Labex research programs to business leaders, policymakers, funding agents and incubator pro-fessionals. It was also an occasion to exchange ideas on new economic models for creati ng the growth opportuni-ti es of tomorrow.
Labex Entreprendre was an acti ve parti cipant in the Lan-guedoc-Roussillon Region’s working group dedicated to carrying out the European Commission’s Strategies for Smart Specializati on (3S) program. Labex members also contributed to the nati onal Entrepreneurship Sessions and helped to bring to life such projects as PEPITE, designed to encourage and support entrepreneurship among students. Executi ve-style training sessions were set up to encourage and guide business growth strategies for SME managers. Through this broad range of acti viti es, Labex Entreprendre has become a key element in the entrepreneurship and innovati on ecosystem.

STRATEGY AND ORGANIZATION
Labex Entreprendre has a clear mission: to build and communicate knowledge about entrepreneurship
at the intersection of the legal, economic and management.
Labex Entreprendre emerged from a project to build a research cluster in Montpel-lier specialized in law, economics and management. Today it is fully committ ed to investi ng in the future. The principle research teams (the Public Law Laboratory, the Private Law Laboratory, Montpellier Research in Management, and two mixed re-search units: UMR LAMETA and UMR MOISA) have united around a topic that should logically bring nati onal and internati onal recogniti on to Montpellier. Entrepreneur-ship was a logical choice because of the long traditi on here of research and experti se on this topic, especially in the management sciences.
Labex Entreprendre’s acti ons manifest through its research programs, training pro-grams and promoti onal work and have both local and internati onal impact. Six Labex chairs bring their dynamism to the Labex initi ati ves and help to coordinate them. These chairs have greatly facilitated networking eff orts by organizing meeti ngs and training modules. They have also worked hard to ensure that Labex projects receive internati onal recogniti on.

RESEARCH Labex Entreprendre has six research projects underway, all supported by the crea-ti on of observatories and research networks:

The research programs have given rise to publicati ons in academic journals, book chapters and communicati ons in presti gious conferences.
EDUCATION AND TRAININGTraining has been conducted in close associati on with the six Labex chairs, as well as with the newly created partnership chair in “Management & Technologies.” These chairs are especially vital in professionalizing acti viti es: • Organizati on of a seminar on CSR at the Internati onal Labor Organizati on (OIT)
