Scholarship OpportunitiesUC International Admissions awards scholarships with values between $1,000 and $25,000 to qualifying students. Scholarships are renewable for the duration of a bachelor’s degree program (up to 8 semesters of study). The most common award amount is $9,000 per year.
The application for admission is also the application used for scholarship review. No additional documents are needed in order to be reviewed for scholarships through the UC International Admissions Office. Scholarship announcements are generally included in the offer letter packet.

STUDENT LIfE by THE NUMbERS:
Students live the good life in campus housing. During their first year of studies, all international undergraduates enjoy comfortable and convenient living in one of the 9 residence halls on campus.
Student-run programs and organizations. UC offers a variety of opportunities for international students to make friends and get involved on campus.
Size of the Campus Recreation Center (CRC). CRC features two swimming centers, a rock climbing wall, group fitness classes, and state-of-the-art exercise equipment.
Athletic teams. UC has a variety of men’s and women’s athletic teams, the most popular of which are men’s basketball and football. Many of UC’s athletic events are televised, and several student athletes have competed in the Olympic Games or have gone on to play their sport at the professional level.

Proof of Math AbilityThe Proof of Math Ability requirement may be satisfied by submitting scores from any of the following exams:
• SAT-I• ACT • UC Math Placement Test
UC Math Placement Test (MPT)The UC Math Placement Test (MPT) is an alternative to the SAT or ACT, providing an accurate measure of a student’s mathematics ability. The MPT may be taken by undergraduate students who have not met the Proof of Math Ability through either the SAT-I or ACT. Most academic programs at UC will accept the MPT as an alternative to SAT-I or ACT scores. The test lasts approximately 50 minutes, and scores are available to the student immediately after taking the test. The MPT measures an individual’s ability in the fields traditionally covered in U.S. high school courses, including:

Proof of English AbilityUC uses the following tests for Proof of English Ability.

English Language Requirement ExemptionsThere are only three conditions for being exempt from taking a standardized test to demonstrate your English ability:
1. You have taken a full year of high school or college in the U.S. and earned a passing grade in one year of standard English (not ESL).
• This must be shown on your transcripts.
2. You have earned a passing score on the O-Level Exam.
3. You are from an exempt country. (Visit admissions.uc.edu/international for a full list.)

• No photocopies or scanned emails will be accepted.
• Only original high school transcripts (or notarized copies) sent through physical mail are accepted.
University TranscriptsRequest your transcripts from your current university. Mail the sealed transcript to UC International Admissions. *Students with less than 30 credit hours (approximately 1 year) must also submit high school transcripts.
Course-by-Course EvaluationCourse-by-course evaluations of all non-U.S. university transcripts by a member of the National Association of Credit Evaluators (naces.org), such as World Education Services (wes.org) are required. The evaluation must have both a cumulative GPA and the number of credit hours taken. Have the evaluator send UC both the course-by-course evaluation and the original, official university transcripts.

CONDITIONAL ADMISSIONUC offers conditional admission to undergraduate and graduate students who meet academic coursework requirements, but need English language training.
