CHOOSING COURSES FOR TERM 2

OPTION 1: Members who can’t access the internet, or don’t wish to, can choose their term 2 courses using the Course Selection Form attached to this Newsletter.

Please note that each course has a start date and finish date listed.

If you enroll in a course which runs until December, you remain enrolled in terms 3 and 4. You remain enrolled until the finish date, unless you inform us that you are withdrawing from the class.

If you do not attend a class without explanation for an extended period, we may contact you to discuss whether you wish to remain enrolled. You will not be unenrolled unless we contact you first.

OPTION 2: Members who regularly use the internet at home, can reduce the load on our volunteer office staff by enrolling themselves in classes online.

In your browser visit our website at u3asunraysia.com.au, and click on Courses in the main menu. Login on this page by clicking on “Login”, which will require your membership number and your password (forgotten passwords can be reset on this page – after inserting your member number and surname, click on “send email link to reset password”, you will receive an email which allows you to reset your password).

Click on “View or Select Courses” to see the list of courses running in term 2. Hovering your cursor over a course name gives information about numbers already enrolled and maximum enrolments. Course names with a blue background are full – you can add your name to a waitlist if you wish. Classes with no tick box are closed. Clicking on a course name reveals course data – which is exactly the same as in the newsletter.

To enroll in a class, click on the tick box for that class. When you have selected all your classes, click on Confirm Selections, check the list of new enrolments – if correct click Confirm Selections, and … whereupon an automated email is generated to confirm your new enrolments.

A complete list of your enrolments can be found at the bottom of the page View Member Details

The Pros and Cons of the above options. OPTION 1: Pros: Some members are more comfortable with a familiar method using paper. Some members cannot use Option 2 Members with an email address receive confirmation of their enrolment in a class. Cons: The Course Selection Form must be filled in and returned - involving some delay, meaning that a class may fill before your form is processed OPTION 2: Pros: Members can see whether a class is full or not.

They can decide whether to go on a waitlist. They can see whether they are already enrolled in a class. They receive instant email confirmation of enrolments. When enrolments open, members can quickly enroll in popular classes before they fill

Cons: None to mention – it is a simple process.

Members who have registered an email address with us can expect to receive confirmatory emails if their details are edited, when they are enrolled in classes, and when a payment is received and recorded.

Where a payment is needed, alternative methods of payment are listed on the Course Selection Form or the online invoice.

Financial, Legal and Personal Wellbeing Aspects of that Decision to Borrow? Have limited or tied up funds; need to buy ‘that thing’; simple answer – get more funds by borrowing; now I am happy but what are short-term and long-term pitfalls and pains of that decision? Should I have consulted a financial or legal ‘expert’ before taking that ‘next step?’ What questions should I have asked of the lender, the ‘expert’, and myself? What questions should the financial or legal ‘expert’ had asked of me? What other forms of finance should I have researched about before signing the contract to borrow? Does my age or social status make any difference to my ability to borrow, repay back, or to manage my funds? Am I worse off now Now the unexpected pain has started what can I do to manage, overcome or void it, now or in the future? Who out there can throw me a lifebuoy and help me to stay float and not sink? In summary should I have said ‘no’ to that short-term happiness (back then), and have a better and more comfortable happiness now?.
