I have been working for SMS for over 2 and a half years. My area ranges from Sheffield to Inverness, Hull to Colwyn Bay. In the North we have a number of well known and established fire alarm specialists, providing their customers with choice from local industry experts backed with the support and expertise by the leading Fire Alarm manufacturer in the UK.

We are continually expanding our portfolio to provide you with not only fire products which you know and love but additional products and support services to enhance your existing fire alarm system. We introduced the Document Box a little while ago and are now in the process of developing our Emergency Voice Communication Systems portfolio further by providing you with a new system which will assist you in securing even more Disabled Refuge type opportunities. Safecell Fire & Security

A new warehouse based in Bury required a fire alarm solution to protect the warehouse and office areas. SMS originally quoted the conventional beam detectors as it was a very big and open space, however during the installation, the height and layout of the racking and electrics on cable tray meant that the position of the beam detectors were obscured.

The new aspirating equipment was considered a perfect alternative. With four All Spec 2 units and over 800 metres of piping and accessories, this massive warehouse is now suitably protected with a system that fits the buildings aesthetics better.

SMS dives into the common wealth pool

SPG based in Galashiels, were commissioned to install a state-of-the-art fire protection system for the commonwealth pool and to ensure the safety of the facility was second to none.

The Commonwealth Pool lies just behind the spectacular Arthur’s Seat, in the heart of the capital. For the last two years The City of Edinburgh Council has led a massive renovation and refurbishment programme to return the Pool to its former glory, it’s fantastic facilities include the largest and longest swimming pool in Edinburgh with 50metres, 8 lanes and a normal depth of 2m, which can also be split into two 25metre pools with the use of a boom and a water temperature of 29 degrees. For SPG’s Managing Director, Simon Gillie said:
