Week in reviewHO! HO! HO! This week we had lots of time to review what we’ve learned so far this year. We practiced identifying lonely vowels in words, putting things in alphabetical order, our phonics sounds –ir, -ur, and –er, as well as the word wall words that have been introduced up until now. We read the book Santa’s Stuck and did a writing sample to go along with it. We also finished our Holidays around the World unit learning all about England, Sweden, Mexico, and Germany. Our favorite part was definitely the piñata! In Math, we finished up Chapter 4 (subtraction strategies). The 6th graders also came to read us their Christmas stories. We wrapped the week up with a puzzle gift exchange, holiday party, and Polar Express/PJ day with Mr. Brownlee.
