DUEL IN THE DESERT: After splitting a four-game series with the
Cubs and taking two of three games from the Marlins, the Dodgers
conclude their 10-game road trip (5-4) with the rubber match of their
three-game series against the D-backs following a 6-4 win in 10 innings
last night. Today’s game completes a run of 20 games in 20 days with Los
Angeles having an off-day tomorrow before opening a 10-game
homestand against the Mets (3 G), Phillies (4 G) and Brewers (3 G).
The Dodgers have won eight of their last nine games against the
D-backs, including a run of seven consecutive wins from April
12-June 10.
A win today would give Los Angeles its first winning road trip
of the year and consecutive road series wins for the first time
this season. The Dodgers have a 13-7-5 series record, including
a 4-5-3 series mark on the road.
With last night’s win, the Dodgers finished the month of June
with a 15-15 record and avoided their first losing month since
September 2013 (12-15). Los Angeles went 14-10 in 24 July
games last year.
Following tonight’s game, the Dodgers do not play another
divisional game until Aug. 31 vs. the Giants.
LAW ABIDING: The Dodgers have not stolen a base since June 7 and,
according to the Elias Sports Bureau, their 22-game streak without a steal
ties for the longest streak in modern franchise history (since 1900) along
with droughts from July 5-23, 1920, June 27-July 19, 1937 and July 27-
Aug. 18, 1941. Los Angeles has been thrown out on all five attempted
steals during the stolen base drought. The last Major League team with a
longer streak was the Cardinals, who went 33 games without a steal from
June 10-July 20, 2011.
THIS IS HOWIE DO IT: Howie Kendrick tied last night’s game with
an RBI single in the seventh inning and gave the Dodgers the lead with a
10th-inning solo home run, finishing the game 4-for-5 with a double, a
homer and two RBI. Kendrick has hit safely in his last six games, posting
a .520 batting average (13-for-25) with two doubles, a home run and six
RBI during the run, which began on June 25.
Kendrick is batting a team-best .359 with runners in scoring
position this season (23-for-64).
DOING IT ALL: Dodger pitchers rank third in the Majors with a 3.27
ERA, while leading the NL in WHIP (1.19) and strikeouts (685).
Los Angeles has hit an NL-best 102 home runs and also
continues to lead the circuit with 285 walks (1st MLB), a .332
on-base percentage and a .433 slugging percentage.
The Dodgers continue to rank second in the Majors with a .989
fielding percentage, on pace to set the top mark in franchise
history (.988, 2004), and have committed the second-fewest
errors of any big league team with 32, two more than Miami.
HILLTOPPER: Brett Anderson, who was originally draft by the D-
backs in 2006, has won his last two starts, allowing just two runs in 13.0
combined innings in victories over the Giants and at Miami, and in 11
starts since May 1, he has been one of the National League’s top pitchers:

expected to make his fourth rehab start with Oklahoma City tonight.
Beachy has allowed just one run in 7.2 innings (1.17), while limiting

SEEING STARS: Today, four Oklahoma City Dodgers were named
Pacific Coast League All-Stars and will participate in the 2015 Triple-A
All-Star Game on July 15. Austin Barnes was elected as the PCL’s
starting catcher and Darnell Sweeney was elected as the starting second
baseman, while left-handed reliever Ryan Buchter and shortstop Corey
Seager were named reserves by the PCL. The Dodgers are tied with the
Round Rock Express for the most representatives on the PCL All-Star
roster, and it marks the first time ever four Oklahoma City players have
been named to the Triple-A All-Star Game. The quartet will be joined by
hitting coach Franklin Stubbs, who was previously named to the PCL’s
coaching staff.
Barnes, 25, is batting a team-leading .302 with five home runs

with six home runs, 14 doubles, 31 runs, and 25 RBI.
Buchter, 28, has only been scored upon in one of his 23
appearances, owning a 0.63 ERA and .175 opponent average,
which rank first among PCL relievers.
In addition, Oklahoma City left-hander David Huff has been
selected to the 2015 United States baseball team, which will
compete in the Pan American Gamea in Toronto. The team
kicks off tournament play on July 11 against Puerto Rico.
#ASGWORTHY: Only two days remain in All-Star voting and the
Dodgers will need a surge at the polls to have a starting player elected to
the Mid-Summer Classic July 14 at Great American Ball Park in
Cincinnati. Adrian Gonzalez remains in second place among NL first
basemen, behind Paul Goldschmidt, while catcher Yasmani Grandal (4th)
and outfielders Joc Pederson (6th) and Yasiel Puig (15th) are also in the
hunt at their respective positions. The 2015 All-Star Ballot is available
exclusively online via Dodgers.com and mobile devices. Voting ends
Thursday, July 2 at 8:59 p.m. PT, and All-Star starters will be announced
on July 5 at 4:30 p.m. PT and reserves on July 6 at 4:00 p.m. PT on
selection shows on ESPN.
