Program Description

Summer Internship for 2 Months

Natural gas is now gaining prominence as future fuel to meet clean fuel requirements. It is cost effective for commercial and domestic applications as compared to traditional fuels such as coal and naphtha. The B. Tech. Applied Petroleum Engineering- Gas Specialization program offered by UPES aims to develop specialized Gas industry experts equipped to handle the growing demands of gas industry across the entire gas value-chain. The program is designed to train and develop students having an in-depth knowledge and a comprehensive understanding about the global best practices in the fields of natural gas processing, transportation and utilization techniques. The students are also exposed and educated about the upstream activities that encompass exploration, reservoir, production etc. The delivery methodology comprises a rich mix of lectures, guest lectures, interactive group work, presentations, discussions, tutorials, live projects, summer internships and directed self study. Students’ knowledge of the theory and practice is further supplemented with frequent interactions with Industry leaders as well as policy framers in the form of industry visits and guest lectures.
