Shehasanalysedhowexperienceinthesocial/politicallifeofpatientsinevitablymakesitswayintotheclinicalsetting.Aprolificwriter,Nancy’sbooksinclude“Uprooted Minds: Surviving the Politics of Terror in the Americas”.

ShehasalsodirectedfilmsandhostedaregularprogramonPacificaRadioonvariousthemes,including“Psychoanalysis and Politics”.

DR JULIAN BURNSIDE,AOQC,isanAustralianbarrister,humanrightsandrefugeeadvocate,andauthor.

Whilstmaintaininghispracticeasacommerciallitigator,appearinginmanymajorclassactions,Julianisparticularlyknownforhisstaunchoppositiontothemandatorydetentionofasylumseekers.HehasalsoactedinseveralmajorcasesonbehalfofIndigenousAustralians.

Julianhasreceivedmanyprestigiousawards,oneofwhichwasanOfficeroftheOrderofAustralia,2009,forservicesasahumanrightsadvocate,totheartsasapatronandfundraiser,andtothelaw.Hehasseveralsuccessfulpublicationsonlaw,humanrightsandphilology,andinadditionheisapatronofnumerousartsorganizations.
