SUBDIVISION SITE PLAN

Design Brief The objective of the site plan was to incorpo-rate graphic components, conceptual integration, combined with creativi-ty to design a subdivision dedicated to sustainabili-ty.

The plan was based on a thorough analysis of the cities developmental standards and by-laws. This design proposal takes into account pedestrian safety and comfort with the limited roadway ac-cess.

Design Brief The aim of the com-munity design was to cre-ate a public space within the subdivision that would establish a place where neighbours interact by providing a healthy envi-ronment sanctuary, where families and individuals can live for generations.

The concept for the community space was to encourage a healthy lifestyle by creating open space and recreation. Along with, ensuring walk-ability by providing adequate trails.

Design Brief The vision for the architectural design was to illustrate creativity and originality in developing houses within the subdivi-sion.

The creation of the resdiential house encom-passes a complete, profes-sional and clear building that contains landscape elements surrounding the building.

Design Brief The Keats Way pro-posal was designed to highlight features catered to pedestrian experience. The two main areas that we focused on were “The Mixer,” and “The Connec-tion.” These two areas will improve pedestrian safe-ty and visual aesthetics. The design was created to increase the visual ap-peal as well as, aspects that would encourage the community to utilize the area.

INTERSECTION DESIGN PROPOSALUniversity Ave. Corridor, Waterloo, ON│ Winter 2014

Design Brief The intersection design proposal for the University Ave. corridor was designed to highlight features catered to active transportation (walking and cycling). The goal was to reconfigure the in-tersections within the des-ignated area to promote cycling use and make it safer for both modes of transportation. Currently, active transportation is minimal throughout the corridor because there is a lack of concern for proper main-tenance of the bicycle lanes, as well as narrow sidewalks.
