Meet at the Hobby Lobby lot, 525 S. 8th Street, Colorado Springs at 6 a.m. Arrival times at resorts will vary. Enjoy a full day on the slopes, then load up at 4 p.m. to return to Hobby Lobby. Relax while the ORC driver gets you back safe and sound.

Activity fee is $25*. Lift tickets must be purchased separately. If you are scheduling lessons at the resort, many of them include a lift pass. Full payment reservations are required. Minimum age is 18 unless accompanied by an adult. Sign up no later than two days prior to a trip, (a minimum number of participants are required for a trip to go.)

Snowmobile Half Day Sat. Jan. 18, 8:30 a.m.

This half day three hour ride is great for those who want to sleep in a little bit. You will see everything you see on the Monarch Park Scenic Tour PLUS the upper meadows and overlook. This trip also has more free ride time and departs from our lodge for (snow conditions permitting) approx. 35 miles of riding. Passenger must be at least 5 years old Drivers must be at least 15 years old (with adult supervision). You need to be at least 18 years old to rent a snowmobile. Cost: $185 for single sled, $235 total for a tandem sled that seats two. Activity includes: Trans-portation, guides, 1/2 day snowmobile trip, snowmobile clothing (helmet, warm outer layer and boots in com-mon sizes available and snowmobile insurance) There is a $250 deductible in case of incident.

Snowmobile Full Day Sat. Jan. 10, 5:30 a.m. All Day Tour with lunch departs from the West side of Monarch Pass (snow conditions permitting). The tour starts in the free ride meadow followed by road and trail riding up to the Continental Divide. Our all day ride usually covers 60-80 miles. Passenger must be at least 5 years of age. Drivers must be at least 16 years old (with adult supervision) and have a valid drivers license. You need to be at least 18 years old to rent a snowmobile for yourself or another. Cost: $255 for single sled, $325 total for a tandem sled that seats two. Activity includes: Transportation, guides, full snowmobile trip, snowmobile clothing (helmet, warm outer layer and boots (common sizes) available. Snowmobile insurance (you still have a $250 deductible in case of incident). Group size is limited so sign up early!

Moonlight Snowshoe Hike Sat., Jan. 3, 5:30 p.m. Too much time indoors this winter? Spend your day exploring Colorado’s Winter Wonderland on snow-shoes. Whether you’re on snowshoes for the first time or you’re a pro - join us for this winter adventure! Refreshments and hearty snacks provided for the jour-ney. Bring a light and dress in layers, because you will warm up quickly. Wear sturdy waterproof boots and a jacket that covers your bum. Cost is $29 per person. Activity includes transportation, snowshoes and guide.

* Monarch, A-Basin, Loveland Ride & Pass, Ski TripsSmall enough to give you that friendly small-town feeling, but large enough to offer everything you want! They have runs for all abilities, as well as a terrain park and cat skiing. Transporta-tion AND lift pass! Cost: ONLY $65! 6 and under and those 69 and over need only pay for transportation. Transportation only $25. Rent your Ski or Snowboard from Outdoor Rec. for $5 off for this activity.

Tue., Jan. 6, 6 - 8:30 pm Spend an evening with our ski techs where they’ll show you how to repair your skis and board. You’ll learn how to ptex, edge, de-tune and wax your gear by hand. Having a good tune makes you a better rider! Class includes: Instruction and use of tools. This is an instructional class, due to time limits please do not bring personal gear. Cost $110 Includes: An Iron, file guide, wax, 2 scrapers, gummi stone, scotchbrite pad, P-tex, and your experienced ski tech instructor.

Ski Tech Class

Sat., Jan. 24, 7 am - 3 pm Colorado is home to some of the best ice climbing in the world and we are lucky enough to have some beautiful frozen waterfalls perfect for be-ginners right here in Colorado Springs. Come with us to learn about this fun, exciting, and surprisingly easy activity in North Cheyenne Canyon. We will teach you how to climb these frozen flows and how to safely use ice climbing equipment, as well as how to belay your partners. Don’t miss out on this unique and extremely fun part of the Colorado outdoor scene!

Included with your trip: transportation from Outdoor Rec and back, all the necessary climbing equipment, and your experienced and certified American Mountain Guides Association instructor.

Cost: Only $60! Half the price on average of any other outfitter. Minimum participation: 3 people, max: 9 people. Must be 9 y/o or older. Participants should bring winter clothing and extra layers for being outside in winter conditions, as well as sunglasses, a warm hat, and 2 pairs of gloves. A sack lunch and at least one liter of water is also highly recommended.

Ouray Hot Springs and Ice Climbing Weekend Feb. 20-22, $225/person Come with us for a once in a lifetime experience to the town of Ouray, CO for a fun filled weekend of relaxing in hot springs, learning to ice climb, and dining out in this quaint and beauti-ful mountain town. Commonly referred to as the Swiss Alps of Colorado, Ouray is surrounded by 13,000ft peaks and is home to the International Ice Climbing Festival, as well as hundreds of ice climbs ranging in difficulty from beginner to advanced. On Fri morning we will depart for Ouray and once we arrive, drop our things at the condo or hotel, and go out for a quick intro to ice climbing evening class. We will spend Saturday down in the icy box canyon (that makes Ouray so famou)s and climb as much as your heart desires, as well as learn to rappel. Sunday will be our last day and we will set up some more difficult, but incredibly aesthetic climbs for you to try in the morning, then later pack up and leave for home, arriving back around 8pm. This trip is truly fantastic and is guaranteed to please! Included with the trip: All climbing equipment, transportation, guides, permit fees, lodging, and tickets to the local hot springs. Meals are not included. Participants should come prepared with: warm winter clothing with jacket and snow pants, a water bottle, sunglasses, personal overnight clothing and needs for hotel, at least 2 pairs of gloves. Must be at least 16 years old.

Celestial Seasonings and the Butterfly PavilionSun., Jan 11, and Sat., Feb 21, $39 per personMeet at the outdoor rec. at 8:30 am, return time 5:30 pm Get ready for a day of relaxation and tranquility. After leaving Outdoor Rec. we’ll head out to the Celestial Season-ing® factory in Boulder. From raw ingredients to finished products, you’ll learn all about the wonderful world of tea and see how their wholesome products are blended, pack-aged and shipped. You’ll never look at tea the same way again! The tour takes 45 minutes to complete. After a short video introduction, visitors enjoy a 30-minute walking tour through the factory. You’ll find just what you’re looking for at the Celestial Seasonings Tea Shop. Next we’ll head over to the Butterfly Pavilion. During your visit you’ll meet many different types of invertebrates. From the tropical butterflies in the rainforest to sea stars at the “Water’s Edge”, these animals will amaze you with their variety and impact on our planet. Fluttering, flitting, flying, emerging, growing, the lush tropical conservatory is alive with 1,200 butterflies from rain-forests around the world. Must be age 6 or above. Activity Includes: Transportation, Entries and Tours.
