Goals • to improve professional skills • to balance work and life• to understand the true meaning

of happiness in the digital age

About Claire works as an arts writer for Sydney Morning Herald. She has great interest in communication and psychology. From her work, she often gets to see art exhibitions exclusively before the public. But when it is possible, she chooses to view art and write about it when it is open to the public. She wants to know how other people think about the artworks, but she is too shy to open up a conversation with a stranger.

Will I get rejected? How should I start the conversation? If I keep talking to people, they are going to think that I am a weirdo because no one does the same here!

Goals • to gain more knowledge • to build friendships with

like-minded people

About Different from his peers in the financial industry, Richard is passionate and knowledgable about contemporary art. Richard feels isolated as he is unable to share what he is passionate about with his peers. So he joins online forum to exchange opinions with like-minded people. Would he wonder other people’s thoughts seeing an artwork? Of course. But people seem to be quite isolated too as no one talks. He gave up after a few attempts.

We use to say hello to strangers on the streets. Today people only smile at their phones! Like many other things, art viewing should be a collective experience. It would be more inspiring to share thoughts with other viewers.

The need of Claire & Richard is the same

to be inspired, not only by the art, but also by the person who breathes art next to them.

So what could happen to Claire and Richard?

A very important thing you should know: this is not a dating app.
