1.1. PRESENTATION OF THE GUIDEBOOK This configuration guidebook is intended for OMR and OCWS users. This configuration guidebook is intended for all those using the management and creation of Digital Assets in OCWS and its visualization in OMR. This guidebook introduces the configuration and use of OCWS to store, share, distribute and customize its Digital Asset. All the features described in this guidebook as well as all the screen impressions were realized in June 2017 under Windows 10 and Android. This guidebook may evolve with improvements to OCWS and OMR.

1.2. GLOSSARY

Term Definition

ORINOX Engineering Center

Digital Asset The Digital Asset is a set of data (3D model, hierarchization, links ...) resulting from a project.

OCWS Web platform for data storage and management.

OMR 3D visualization and review application.

Target Image used in augmented reality detected by OMR and which displays on it a 3D model.

RVM RVM file is an AVEVA Plant Design Management System Model. AVEVA's Plant Design Management System (PDMS) is the most popular 3D design system using 'data centric' technology for managing projects (also used by e3d).

FBX It’s used to ensure interoperability between digital content creation applications.

Augmented Reality Augmented reality is the superposition of reality and elements (sounds, 2D, 3D, videos, etc.) calculated by a real-time computer system. It’s most often used on tablet or smartphone.

Gyroscopic effect Allows you to directly measure angles of inclination, in this case for a tablet or a smartphone.

2. CONTEXT

In this part

• What is digitalization ?

• What is OCWS ?

• What is OMR ?

• How it works?

• Required items

2.1. WHAT IS DIGITALIZATION ?

The Digital Asset is the digital twin as a network of contextualized information which captures and enhance the data of any industrial asset and project. In other words, the digitalization refers to the conversion from the physical asset (with 3D models, technical documents, drawings, images, etc.) into its digital twin. The Digital Asset contains information and describes the whole lifecycle of the asset from design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, operations, maintenance, revamping and decommissioning. This approach to the Digital Asset creates an integrated framework of reliable information, supporting and improving at the same time in decision-making, safety and performance. It unifies information that runs through every system, populates every application, and is embedded in every documents and models. It removes barriers to information flows and provides access to that information, both for capital project execution and asset life cycle management. To conclude, the digitalization empowers your entire teams with information that they share and they trust to support the collaboration and the decision-making at the right time. This approach makes it possible to streamline the overall execution of the project, simplifying commissioning, start-up and transfer, minimizing the risks of overruns and increasing operational reliability.

2.2. WHAT IS OMR ? ORINOX Model Review (https://omr.orinox.com/), OMR, is one of the services of ORINOX Cloud Web Services. OCWS (https://ocws.orinox.com) is a web-based platform for storing and managing your Digital Asset data and an innovative solution to access, edit and view engineering data of your project from the best class softwares (AVEVA, PTC Plus, LFM, OMR). OMR is a digital asset viewing and review application, available on multiple device and OS: smartphone, tablet, Hololens, Occulus, HTC Vive or touch screen, compatible with iOS, Android and Windows. OMR is designed to be connected to your Digital Asset via your OCWS account. It is easy to deposit on this platform a file. rvm or .fbx, directly from the preferred design software. Our platform captures the tags and technical information (1D / 2D / 3D) of your Digital Asset.

5.2. TARGET CONFIGURATION

- You have at your disposal 5 targets:

Please respect the syntax of target names mentioned above.

It is also possible to associate your models with custom targets. For further information please contact us at the following address: [email protected]

In the targets folder you can download the targets to .jpg and print them for use.

5.3. CHOICE OF TARGETS

The default target is the "target_01".

- In the XML file, you can change the target among the 5 available. If you want to use target_02, replace target_01 by target_02 in the target part This should give this line: <target name = "target_02" /> - Then in the associations section perform the same operation This should give this line: <association target = "target_02" model = "pof" /> - Once the changes are made click on "Save".

The pre-centering of the model on the target is done automatically unless you specify the postition.

5.4. ADJUSTING THE TARGET

- When you try to see your model on a target in augmented reality you notice that your model

is bigger or smaller than the target? It’s because the model has been imported at real size

and need to be reduced to appear properly on the target.

- Head to the .XML file where you can configure your target, have a look at the line which

begins with <ImageTarget name… It is this line that you have to modify to resize your model.

- You should enter the size of your 3D model to make him appear at the best scale for your

target. In our example for a model of 40 meter we set the line at: <ImageTarget

name="Marqueur_Unity" size="40.000000 400.000000" />

GROUND

By default, ground is not activated.

Available grounds:

Tar Grass Water

- To add a ground, you must activate the line corresponding to the ground that is just below the line corresponding to the sky: <! - - <ground name = "Tar" /> - ->. - To activate this line remove the parts in red: <! - <ground name = "Tar" /> ->. This gives: <ground name = "Tar" /> to display the bitumen. If you want to display grass, replace the word Tar with the word Grass. - Once the changes made click on "Save".

To deactivate the sky and the ground, comment1 the line like this (add the elements in red):

<!--<sky name="twilight"/> <ground name="grass"/>-->

1 This means that you disable the line without deleting it. The advantage is a faster reactivation of

the element.

TAG’S MODEL

- You can also add information about the library template in the same way as tags.

The information lines are deactivated at start, remove the comments to reactivate them.

- To put a sentence in the info window put this line template:

If you don’t want it to return to a web site this will give this:

<item type="photo" path="documents" designation="photo.jpg"/>

7.6. MULTI-MODEL When a model is converted, it automatically creates a project (a model = a project). If you want to add one or more templates in the same project, you must transfer the elements of the package in question to the original package (the one originally created).

- Repeat Chapter 4.3 and 4.4, to load and convert an RVM or FBX file. This gives a package

like the previous one (except the models that are different).

- Right click on the imported file and go to OMR tools then click on Add to OMR package and

choose the package.

- This will convert the model and include it in the selected package.

- Here the new model (FTN) was converted and it was added in the file of the model.

- The ftn template is also included in the xml file, this added a target.

- This added the settings of the ftn model, as well as its association with the new target.
