Seat part

Mounting the seatplateThe seat systems mounting plate is easily mounted on the chassis lower seat plate by use of four (4) screws, washers and nuts in marked tracks (A).

Place the seat systems mounting plate (B) on the bottom seat plate (C) by use of the supplied screw (D). Then meet with the washer and nut beneath the bottom seat plate. Tighten the screws (D) properly.

Adjusting the seat depth In order to get the right weight distribution and a well balanced chassi, the driving bow of the chassi can be deep adjusted. A well-balanced chassi allows easier operation.

To adjust the seat depth of the base, loosen the screws (F) below the rear part of the seat plate and then move the driving bow to the desired depth. Then tighten the screws (F) again.

Depending on the size of the seat system, the footrest depth should also be adjusted when adjusting the driving bow. To adjust the footrest depth on the base, loosen the screws (E) under the front part of the seat plate slightly and then move the footrest to the desired depth. Then tighten the screws (E) again.

The seat depth adjustment is fitted with a safety stop, which means that you can never adjust the footrest / driving bow too far, or in any other way that involves danger of use.

TIP! The picture only shows mounting instructions for one type of mounting plate. For further information about other mounting plates, see user manuals for the selected seating system.

Note! You don’t need to loosen the screws (E) and (F) completely to adjust the seat depth.

Tilting the seat Seabass has two different tilt positions, which are set using holes at the bottom of the gas piston. If the piston is attached to the standard hole at the bottom (as shown below) tilt is obtained at 0° to 35°. If the piston is attached to the hole above, a tilt of -7° to 28° is obtained. To tilt the seat, push the lever (A) while holding the driving bow with one hand and push it down / forward. Release the slider (A) when you have reach the desired tilt.

To reset the seat angle to the original position, press the slider (A) and dragthe driving bow up / to behind.

Wheels

Example at Seabass with 24’’ driving wheel You have three (3) different positions to choose from. Select the position that is most appropriate given the position of the seating system on the chassis.

Wheel positions To maintain a correct centre of gravity it is possible to changes positions of the driving wheels depending of the seat systems position on the chassis seat plate. There are a number of different positions depending on the size of the wheels.

There are also different positions to choose for each wheelsize. For advice and help balancing the wheelchair, please contact your dealer.

Note! Changing the wheelposition might increase the risk of tipping. It may also be necessary to adjust the caster wheel position when adjusting the drive wheel position.

Note! When changing the drive wheel position, it may also be necessary to adjust the parking brake slightly. See pages 30-31 for further information about the parking brake.

Installation of drum brake You need to remove the wheel from the wheelchair to mount the drum brake. Press the button on the quick-realease axle and pull the wheel and axle out from the drum brake.

Mount the drum brake on the chassis by putting a large spacer (D) over the drum brakes threaded axle and push it in the intended hole for the desired position. Attach the big nut (H) to the inside of frame side plate and tighten something. It is important to not tighten too hard..

Stick the screw (C) through the hole for rotation lock in the brake drum (A), through the small spacer (E) and through the holes in the frame side.See pages 22-23 with frame pictures for possible locations of driving wheels and drum brakes. Attach with washer (F) and nut (G) on the inside of the frame side plate.Tighten both nuts (H) and (G) so that the brake drum is securely tightened. The brake drum’s rotation stop should point diagonally backwards/upwards for 12/16 ”and diagonally forward/upwards for 20-24”.

Take the quick-release axle with the wheel and push until the wheel attaches. Test by pulling the wheel slightly outwards (without pressing the quick release button).

Brakes
