{Julie}Hard Facts Julie is a 40 year old software professional who is married with two boys (ages 12 & 7). She commutes two hours a day on the bus and on the weekends she is usually found attending a youth soccer game or running errands with her family.

Daily Routine During the week, she comes home from work and helps her husband in the kitchen with dinner, then helps in getting the boys to bed. After her family obligations are complete, Julie can either be found on her laptop organizing files for next workday, in the living room with a glass of wine, or in bed on her phone.

She enjoys her job for the most part, but the long commutes and stress from work often make her feel like she is chained to the expectations fo her lifestyle. Julie often passes the time on the bus with a book from some of her favorite fiction authors. She gravitates towards adventures or mysteries as they make her feel free from her many obligations.

In an average day she spends most of her day in meetings coordinating with other members of her team. She does her best to take a break at lunch time to clear her head or walk on the treadmill, but often gets caught in brainstorming sessions or impromptu meetings.

{Julie}Computer, Internet, and TV Use Julie has a laptop and a phone that she uses for work, but a desktop that she shares with her family at home. She mostly uses the internet for work related activities but does manage to squeeze in a few minutes of TV from time to time.

After being on a computer all day, Julie tries to disengage from being online while she is at home.

Future Goals Julie would love a world where she could work from home and have coffee with her husband after they drop their kids off at school. She’s looked for remote work in the past but didn’t find anything that paid as much as she needs.

She’s entertained the idea of starting her own business or writing a book, but with her busy schedule she hasn’t had the time to dive deep into either prospect.

Primary drivers: Free time, more time with her family, relaxation, adventure

Secondary drivers: Short interactions, ability to create, validation through creativity
