• Connect to:http://oxlip-plus.ouls.ox.ac.uk/

• If you get a warning message about the certificate choose “Accept this certificate permanently”. It is perfectly safe to do this.

• Note – the wording of the warning message may vary.

Once connected choose “Log in”

Find “University of Oxford” in the list of institutions

Page 6: Using Oxlip+

• Enter you “Oxford single sign on” details as prompted and then click “Continue to idp.shibboleth.ox.ac.uk”

• Your Oxford single sign on details are the same as your Oxford webmail details

• If you have forgotten them reset them at https://webauth.ox.ac.uk/reset_password or contact [email protected]

Finding a database by name

To find a database by name simply type the name in the search box or browse the A-Z

Enter the name of the database in the search box e.g. Westlaw, Lexis, Index to Legal Periodicals, PAIS, Social Science Citation Index

Browsing a list of databases by subject

To browse a list of legal databases:

1. Choose the “Find by” tab

2. Choose “Law” from the subject list

Follow the link to connect to the database

Use the “i” button to read a description of

the database

Finding databases by entering keywords

• You can find databases by entering keywords in the “Any Word” search box

• This searches for words in the description of the database or in its title - it does NOT search the database itself

• Use very broad subject terms

– e.g. International law, French law, treaties, legislation, journals, jurisprudence
