Abhishek Mehta and Abhinay Mehta are the founder and principle Directors of Urban Tree and third generation entrepreneurs of the renouned,

SSM Group, which is a strategically branched out, multi-activity conglomerate, diversified into Chemicals Trading and Distribution, Warehousing, Real

Estate and Property Development. The SSM Group, started with a humble beginning in 1956, as a small firm, trading industrial chemicals, tanning

chemicals and dyes, is now celebrating its 57th glorious year of reputation and goodwill, with offices in Bangalore and Mumbai. The areas of interest

have since then grown at a rapid pace, dealing with various sectors of the Society.

Chemical Division

Chemical division started their operations in the year 1956, is now the authorised distributor for several leading brands in the industrial chemical

industry. It has its branches in Bangalore and Mumbai. It is one of the oldest members of the Tamilnadu Dyes and Chemical Merchants Association.

The warehousing division started its operation in 1986. The Warehousing division has its warehouses in Madhavaram, on G. N. T. road, National High-

way #5. The total constructed area is 340,000 Sq. Ft at Madhavaram and the vacant space for open warehousing is 1,20,000 Sq. Ft. Also, an area of

21,000 Sq. Ft. at Poonamalle Bye Pass Road with 30,000 Sq. Ft. for open space warehousing. These warehouses are built to international standards

and have been equipped with all modern facilities. The company is one of the firsts to pioneer into the warehousing field in Chennai and also the

first in introducing RCC roofed warehousing in Chennai.

Real Estate and Property Development

IT Park Division: Started in 2004, to plan, develop, build and maintain international quality Informa-

tion Technology (IT) parks and knowledge industrial infrastructure parks for IT and ITES industries,

with a plan to develop over 10,00,000 Sq. Ft. The company has already developed of 150,000 Sq. Ft in

Phase I.

Elaborate Landbanks: The SSM Group holds vast extents of lands, from Urapakkam and Maraimalai

Nagar on GST to Muttkaddu and Poonjeri on ECR, in total of more than 50 acres with an estimated

market value of 175 crores. With an experience of developing over 350,000 Sq.ft. of commerical Real

estate, Abhishek Mehta & Abhinay Mehta in 2009 ventured in to Residential Real Estate, where in the

last 2 years, 235 apartments with acombined area of 200,000 Sq.ft. valued at over 80 crores have been

handed over and more than 450 apartments with a combined area of 460,000 Sq.ft. valued at over.

200 crores are under construction at the time of this going in to print.
