INTRODUCTION
BackgroundUtahns are served by a host of state officials, departments, boards, commissions, committees, and judges, not tomention various local government units and subunits. Utah state government is extensive, varied, and complex.In fact, it is one of Utah's largest employers, employing approximately 23,600 persons as of August 1, 2012. Thispublication includes organization charts for Utah's legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government aswell as independent governmental entities. As state government is ever changing, the Office of LegislativeResearch and General Counsel updates this compilation of charts every two years.
The information in this report has been reviewed by the departments and the other major entities and reflectsstructures as of August 22, 2012.
