Utility is an independent design company andcollaborative network of construction specialistsdoing three usefully overlapping things: siteaudit, interior design and furniture-finding.Whilecommissions and clients vary, projects share anexperienced, straightforward approach to changinginterior space at home, at work and in the community.

Audit a stand-alone service, or the beginning ofa complete design: you tell us what you want toachieve and we test the space – a room, or abuilding – to assess fabric, services and planalteration. This allows you to check scope, costsand timing, understand what is possible, andconfidently decide how best to proceed.

Design all stages from audit, first ideas, permissions, appointing consultants, construction detail, lighting, specification and managing work on site.We keepa sometimes-complex process simple, and believethat getting the thinking straight at the start isthe key to finishing well.

Furniture working with designer/makers, vintagedealers and contemporary suppliers we adviseon furniture, products and art, from a singlepiece to fitting-out a hotel, with expert knowledgeof what is available and what is right for the job.for the job.
