• 1 year program• Learn hardware,

system configuration, operating systems, troubleshooting and networking.

• A+ and other certifications available

Cosmetology• 2 years• Basic styling

techniques and cuts, nails, facials, manicures, pedicures, color and more.

• Virginia Board certification available

Criminal Justice• 2 years• Hands-on experience

with police work• Theory and

technology related to criminology

• Seamless transition to Blue Ridge Community College.

Culinary Arts• 2 years• Meal planning &

preparation, commercial baking, safety, sanitation, dining room service.

• ProStart certification available.

Diesel Equipment Technology• 2 years.• Inspect & maintain

engines, electrical circuitry, operating controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, wheels & brakes. Also welding & brazing.

Electricity

• 2 years• Lay out, assemble and

install electrical devices and circuits related to residential wiring.

• Learn electrical codes.• Students wire the house

built by Carpentry class.

Electronics• 1 year.• Basic electronic

theory, use of components, digital electronics, robotics and solid state devices.

• Dual enrollment with Blue Ridge Community College.

Emergency Medical Technician

• 1 year• Students become

skilled in dealing with medical and trauma emergencies.

• On the job training and patient care experience.

• Virginia EMT certification available

Nurse Aide• 1 year.• Rigorous program• 1st semester learning

work and responsibilities of nurse aides, psychiatric aides, ward secretaries and food service staff

• 2nd semester is working in a health care facility.

• C.N.A. certification available

Horticulture Science & Greenhouse Plant Production &

Management• 2 years• Plant identification &

propagation, growing potted & seasonal plants, floral design, growing & selling bedding plants. Also tool and equipment maintenance.

• Dual enrollment with BRCC possible

Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration

• 2 years.• Diagnose & repair

residential & light commercial HVAC equipment including heat pumps, air conditioning and oil & gas furnaces.

• CFC certification included

Dental Assistant• 1 year.• Learn techniques

involved in two-handed dentistry, taking dental x-rays, patient dental care education and teamwork.

Masonry• 2 years• Preparation to go to

work as an apprentice brick mason. Learn tools, machines, equipment, and techniques.

• Program certified by the Associate General Contractors of America, (AGCA).

Practical Nursing• 9 months classroom

and 8 months clinical.• Seniors and post

grads only. Clinical phase is full-time.

• NLN pretest required @$50.00

• Preparation for Licensed Practical Nursing certification.

Office Administration• 1year.• Enhance word

processing and communication skills needed by administrative support professionals.

• MOS & IC3 certifications available

Information Technology Fundamentals

• 1 Semester (Fall or Spring).

• IT basics, Internet fundamentals, network systems, maintenance, troubleshooting, Web page design and more.

Legal Systems Administration

• 1 Semester (Spring)• Legal terminology &

procedures, preparing legal documents, and functioning effectively in a law office.

Medical Systems Administration

• 1 Semester (Fall)• Use of medical

terminology and procedures, developing medical documents and functioning effectively in a medical office environment.

Welding• 2 year program• Set up and operation

of machine tools, welding and cutting machine, sheet metal fabrication and pattern making.

• Welds certified individually.

Virginia Teachers For Tomorrow• 1 semester• An introduction to

teaching and the teaching profession

• Opportunities to satisfy beginning teacher assessment requirements

• Possible dual enrollment credit with BRCC
