A LONG HISTORY OF ExCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE

Flotech began as Gulf Atlantic Valve in 1961 with a small dedicated crew repairing valves in Florida for marine and industrial customers. Service work on valves has always been

the core of our business. Soon after we purchased the Space Castings foundry business to provide high temperature metal castings for local mills. Our foundry product line expanded to include specialty valves, boiler parts and flanged fittings, and continues today to locally manufacture castings for a broad range of industrial applications. W&O Engineering was next - a tube and retube operation equipped to repair, clean or build new heat exchangers, condensers and chillers. With the combination of valve expertise, inhouse foundry capabilities and complete tube services we were becoming a true full service center for our customers’ requirements.

Our reputation for high quality valve service led to opportunities beyond our home base in Jacksonville. A second manual and safety valve servicing facility was opened in Charleston, SC.

More recently we acquired Southern Valve in Charleston to repair and remanufacture control valves. Complementing our service work we have added a new valve and automation division, committed to stocking and delivering new valves, actuation and parts. We are Tyco Flow Control’s largest stocking distributor in North America.

The valve, foundry, tube and fabrication businesses were consolidated under the Flotech name in 1975. Today Flotech provides valve repair, safety valve certification, actuation, control valve repair and new valves from locations throughout the Southeast. CONTROL VALVES AND MANUAL VALVESWe specialize in the repair, refurbishing and certification of Control Valves: V-Ball type and Diaphragm Control Valves (Fisher, Neles, Jamesbury, Dezurik, Masoneilan, etc) and associated actuation and automation controls.

FOUNDRYMETAL CASTINGS & FOUNDRY

SPACE CASTINGS, the foundry division of

Flotech, is a medium sized foundry specializing

in sand castings for industrial applications.

Utilizing our five Electrical Induction furnaces

we are uniquely positioned to provide a wide

variety of metal casting types, sizes and

shapes in many metals and alloys.

MADE IN THE USAWhen you use the Flotech foundry, you have the pride and satisfaction of utilizing one of the few foundries left in the United States.

PATTERN SHOPWe have an in-house pattern shop which allows us to produce your metal casting part from an original drawing, or we can reproduce a copy from your sample. We have over 35 years of experience in pattern building. Our pattern shop specializes in patterns for power plants, marine, ship building, food handling, agriculture, mining, & valves for numerous other industrial applications.

METALLURGICAL ANALYSISWe also do in-house metallurgical analysis with our spark-gap spectrometer to ensure accuracy of pours and metal properties. Spectrometers are used to identify, sort and analyze metals for incoming inspections to provide customers with a metal analysis report on existing parts that need replacement, during production processes and before delivery.

CNC & MACHINING CAPABILITIESHoused within several buildings our machine shop and experienced machinists are ready to manufacture parts to your unique specifications. We have boring mills to handle diameters up to 84” and lathes that can machine up to 40 foot material. Our computerized equipment includes CNC lathes and CNC machining centers. Fabrication and welding of almost every part can be performed in house.

To ensure maximum quality control we manufacture our own patterns and work with you to pour samples of each new part prior to a full run. Flotech has an extensive pattern library for producing cast parts for stoker grate systems, waste-to-energy boilers and replaceable parts for recovery boilers.

We cast stoker grate bars and boiler parts in 310H Stainless, 309 HH Stainless steel, White Iron, Ductile Iron, and Alloy 825.

TUBE SERVICESProfessional, reliable and dependable is what you should expect from our tube services division when working on your equipment in one of our facilities or at your plant location. During an outage, or planned maintenance, our staff will coordinate the service to your equipment within the agreed time frame.

Flotech has a Certificate of Authorization from the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors to use the “R” stamp for repair and/or alteration of existing code stamped heat transfer equipment. Work performed on commercial type equipment to specific customer requirements also follows the guidelines of the ASME Code-accepted quality system. These guidelines ensure that inspection, testing and manufacturing procedures are performed by qualified personnel.

Flotech Tube Services is dedicated to manufacturing, repairing, replacing or retubing heat exchangers, surface condensers, coolers, chillers and all types of heat transfer vessels for heavy industry and marine applications.
