VALVE PRODUCT PORTFOLIO Low Pressure Valves

ProfileHPE (Hydro Power Equipment) is a supplier of valves ranging from low

pressures up to 250 bar.

HPE supplies its own brand of valves (designed and manufactured by HPE

in South Africa) predominantly in the 50 to 250 bar range and is the agent

for the Ultra brand of valves mainly in the pressure ranges less than 50 bar.

Design and engineering

The HPE Innovation Team, in conjunction with the client, will look at the

challenges and application at hand and turn it into an innovative solution.

By utilizing the latest Solid Works Computer software, 3D Printing

technology, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Finite Element Analysis etc,

the team will find a safe workable solution to the customer’s needs.

Product and solution development

A dedicated research and test facility enables HPE to continually

strive towards new solutions to the industry’s demands for enhanced

performance and safety.

The objective of this team is the transfer of knowledge and skills to the

end user which is fundamental for the sustainable success of any new

technology. The team consists of qualified instructors who are NQA

certified trainers and experts who interact with the users daily.

Ultra ACV Control Valve

The Ultra ACV range of self-actuated pilot operated control valves is the back-bone of Ultra Control Valves. These valves are available in sizes 15mm to 1000mm and the standard pressure range is 25 bar to 100 bar. All functions such as Pressure Reducing, Pressure Relief, Flow Control, Level Control, Electronic Control and combinations are available.

Ultra ACV Ratio Reducing Valve

The Ultra ACV Ratio Reducing valve consists of a piston inside a body with no external piloting which cannot be adjusted or tampered with. Ductile iron with stainless steel trim.

Size: 50mm to 250mm

Pressure: 16 bar, 25 bar, 40 bar

Ratios available: 2:1, 3:1

Flow Control Valve (Maric type)

A very simple form of Flow Control with no possibility of tampering and very dirt tolerant. Ideally used for water saving or as a pressure distribution device.

Ultra ACV

The Ultra ACV is the most common type of valve for use as a Pump Control/Check valve. It has the benefit of being self actuated and linked into the pump’s controls via solenoid and limit switch. The valve has the benefit of automatically shutting on electrical failure.

Process Control Valve

Electrically or Pneumatically actuated globe and V-segment Ball Control Valves available.

Size: 80mm to 600mm

BUTTERFLY VALVES

Ultra Utility Butterfly Valve

Wafer pattern style, rubberlined, choice of a stainless steel blade, electroless nickel plated (ENP) disc and with EPDM rubber liners. Choice of lever operated or gearbox.


Pressure: 16 bar

High Performance Butterfly Valve

Wafer pattern style, stainless steel disc with EPDM liner or a choice of different rubbers to suit the application. The valve has a square drive connection between disc and stem and the rubber is bonded to a removable phenol backing ring for long life and better sealing. Gearbox operated.

Double Eccentric Soft Seated Butterfly Valve

Double Eccentric Butterfly valve, wafer pattern style with a removable seal in the disc and a stainless steel overlayed seat in the body with corrosion protection in strict accordance with SA Water Authority specifications.


Pressure: 10 bar, 16 bar, 20 bar, 25 bar, 40 bar

The Ultra MSV Triple Eccentric Butterfly Valve provides no rubbing between stainless steel disc seal and stainless steel body seat, therefore little or no wear and long life. Body seat is available in all welded construction or removable.

Ultra MSV Butterfly Valve

Pressure Reducing Station

The Ultra range is suitable for pressure reducing stations with working pressures up to 50 bar. Can either be a fixed differential pressure ratio or with an adjustable pressure regulating valve to suit the downstream demand.

Dual leg with automatic shut down and start up system.
